Davis saw Clara seal the portal to the Nether Dimension successfully. Although it was more of a crack than a gate, he saw that she had sealed it nearly perfectly. The outsiders were at a disadvantage, unable to increase their power to attack because of the backlash while her barrier even caused the strange nether energy that pulled out the Nether Devilarch to fail.
Clara clearly employed a multitude of laws to create this strange law that he felt to be nearly unbreakable. At the very least, he guessed it was impossible to break into the same level. He wanted to know more, but if he delayed, he guessed Venerable Knight Lussandra might claim the Nether Devilarch and the spoils.
He went to the fallen Nether Devilarch, wondering if he should keep him alive, feed him, make him an Exalt, and then snatch his core. However, that would require him to enter the Upper Realm which he couldn't do in the next ninety-three years.
