It has been a little over 2000 years since the great arcane barrier was conjured on the continent of Frail. Frail has many races that inhabited its continent. There are the human race known for their courage and adaptability. The graceful and elegant elfs that loved mother nature and lived primarily in the ancient forests. The stubborn and robust dwarfs that lived in the mountains to coop with the strong desire to mine for precious metals. Finally the last race Demons, they are an overbearing savage race that are never satisfied. They constantly strive to fulfill their savage instincts and greedy nature. There is also the common wildlife, however there is an exception to these animals the virulent beasts. They are animals that have been mutated by the saturation of mana in the atmosphere of Frail. The mana causes their minds to give into their most savage instincts and feed on anything in their path. The Frailian races had to be on a constant lookout for these virulent beasts, as they roam freely across the continent.
Frailian's were forced to live off the land by hunting or foraging. They lived a nomadic lifestyle as they were always wondering when the next virulent beast horde would come to demolish their camps. They continually prayed for salvation from their endless torment. They wondered why the gods had forsaken them, and allowed the ever expanding demon race and virulent beasts to run rampant and torture them. Frailian's were never able to feel safe and with constant fear they had nightmares in their sleep. It was a dark era for the Frailian's. They lived likes this for a millennium before salvation came to the continent of Frail. The gods finally took pity on the oppressed Frailians. The gods had saved them from the brink of extinction by sealing the demons behind a great arcane barrier. This great barrier spilt the continent in half going north to south creating two separate continents. The gods then formed arcane cores, and put them deep underground. These cores were made of mana condensed until it turned into a solid orb. The virulent beast were drawn to the orbs by their desire to grow stronger. Once the beast were lead underground the gods sealed the entrances to the underground caverns so that they could never run rampant again. Only the low-level beasts were able to pass through the seal and adventure out to once again roam the lands. These underground sealed caverns later became known as dungeons.
After escaping their torment the Frailians began an era of peace and innovation. Many villages started to appear around the dungeons because of the low level virulent beast that could be hunted for food and material. The Frailians started building temples to worship their benevolent gods. They started cultivating the land and breeding livestock. Craftsmen began to appear and used the beast materials and ores to forge better armour and weaponry for the brave warriors and mages that adventure out. These adventures formed groups and clans to earn a living off hunting the virulent beast and traversing the dungeons for better resources. With the Frailians flourishing across the land a golden age began in Frail.
The population exploded and a great empire began to take shape. The great Sithen empire formed by War God Rudar Sithen. He proved his strength by clearing one of the larger dungeons in the north alone. Rudar's empire grew rapidly and his people worshipped him like a god, however his character was flawed. His believed that all non human descent had the blood of demons running through their veins and they would once again bring disaster to the land of Frail. He labeled them as demonkin and decided to purge the continent of these abominations. Many humans flocked to his empire to establish their families. These idealist felt that the human race was above all others in Frail.
Rudar's pilgrimage through the north brought slaughter as he purged the minority races from the north. They were forced to flee south from their homeland to escape the Sithen troops. The leaders of the southern populous selected a leader based on strength and wisdom to lead their collation of armies to oppose the Sithian forces. Under the leadership of Arch-mage Ambermoon ,a wise and steadfast elf, took charge of the newly created force to oppose the Sithen empire.
Arch-mage Ambermoon lead the armies to counter attack the invasion of the Sithen empire. This great war lasted for over a hundred years before finally ending with a truce between the two sides. The war took many lives and the truce was only able to be established because Emperor Sithen's only son, Kroll Sithen, was heavily injured and was no longer able to lead the Sithen troops on the purge of demonkin. A wide river cut through Frail east to west forming a natural barrier which became the border for both sides. The river became known as the River of Harmony, because of its vital role in slowing the Sithen invasion. Allowing the collation army to set up strongholds along the river border. With the treaty in place peace slowly returning to the lands. In the northern and southern region, the Frailians started developing their own respected civilizations.
