Chapter 2 - || Chapter One ||

The sound of the time machine purring couldn't block out the horror that was happening outside. There was no way the planet would survive, and Savanna knew this.

Deleasa set the machine for the year 2020 and with one last glance at her beloved planet, pressed the red button. After she did, she catch a glimpse of her planet exploding. She felt a tug at her heart and a knot in her throat as tears flowed down her cheeks.

"My home... I can't believe everyone is gone... my planet, my people, Savanna," she cried loudly as the time machine sat in plain sight in a field.

Deleasa opened the door and fell out from exhaustion. She checked out her surroundings with glossy eyes and pushed a button on her wristband that made the machine invisible.

"Where am I anyway?" she asked herself, looking at her holographic time sheet.

"Hmm, I'm in a place called Central Park in New York City. I need to gather myself and find Niall Horan... But where do I start?"

Deleasa looked around and saw people from afar. Perhaps they knew where Niall was if they even knew who he was.

"Yo girl," someone behind her called from a sidewalk. "Are you okay? You look like you've been in a street fight and lost."

"Do you know where Niall Horan is?" she asked, startling the person.

"I have no idea who that is, lady. Do you need hospital?" he asked, helping her stand straight.

She shook her head. "I need to find Niall Horan. It's a matter of life and death!"

"I think you need to see a doctor," the man said keeping her steady.

"No, I need to find Niall Horan... please... someone help me find him... I need to..." Deleasa's feet gave out from under her.

"Someone call an ambulance!" the man yelled as Deleasa blacked out.

Everything was spinning and voices were muffled as Deleasa was slowly laid down on the ground until an ambulance pulled up. Even the siren was muffled.

"Ma'am, can you tell me your name, age, and what year this is?" someone in uniform was asking as her and someone else lifted her up.

Deleasa mumbled something but the paramedics couldn't make it out.

"Where did you find her?" the lady asked the man.

He shrugged. "She kind of came out of nowhere and asked me if I knew a Niall Horan. Then she frantically said she needed to find him."

"Did she say why?" the second paramedic asked.

The man shook his head. "She fainted after she got all worked up. I hope she'll be okay. Seems as if she's been in some kind of fight or somethin."

"We'll take real good care of her sir," the first paramedic said closing the door.

The two tried getting answers from Deleasa. She felt exhausted and hurt. Her heart was broken from what she had seen before she prushed the red button. She needed to find Niall Horan. He was the only one who could undo what had been done to her planet. Protecting him would right wrongs.

"She just needs rest," a doctor said as he patted her forehead with a warm cloth. "Clean her up a bit. It may help her feel better."

Deleasa blinked a few times and stared at the ceiling. The lights above her were bright, causing her vision to still be blurry. A nurse hovered over heard with a smile.

"Hi, hun," she said kindly. "Is there anyone you know that we should call to let them know you're here?"

"I need to to find Niall Horan," Deleasa said quietly. "I must find him..."

The nurse looked at the doctor who shrugged. "Find out who this Niall Horan is."

"Yes doctor," the nurse said and rushed out the room.

The doctor looked at Deleasa's paperwork and glanced at her confused.

"Miss, I need to know your name, age, and where you live. It's mandatory for our system," he said tapping his pen on the clipboard.

"I..." Deleasa opened her eyes wide and looked around.

The realization of where she was had finally hit her. She couldn't let people know who she was and where she actually came from.

"Do you remember anything?" the doctor asked, pulling a chair close to her bedside.

"Only my name...It's Deleasa," she lied.

He nodded and wrote it down. "Who's Niall Horan? You keep saying you need to find him. Is he a relative?"

Deleasa rubbed her forehead. "I think so... it's just someone I seem to know right now... but please help me find him... I'm scared."

"Dont worry. We'll find him for you and have him come get you. But only if he knows you," doctor said standing up. "Get some rest. We'll let you know when we find him."

With that he walked out, leaving her alone in her thoughts. She looked around the room once more. The window blinds were slightly open letting in a small amount of a lamp light give off shadows in the now dimly lit room.

Deleasa dangled her legs over the side of the bed after struggling to sit up. She felt so weak. Maybe from the battle she was in and the time travelling she did. She walked over to the window and opened the blinds more and looked out into the city.

"I hope these people can find him for me... clearly most of them have no idea who he is," she said to herself. "This makes my mission harder..."

Deleasa sighed and propped her elbows on the windowsill. She hoped finding him wouldnt benlike finding a needle in a haystack. If she could keep up with the helpless girl act with these doctors, maybe they could help her figure things out. She had nowhere to go and no money for food.

Deleasa blew on the window to create fog and wrote Savanna's name on the glass and sighed again. A year rolled down her cheek.

"Don't worry, Savvy. I won't fail you or our people," she said softly, watching the name disappear.
