Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 to the underground passage

the dust cloud around where Walter was cleared up, with no sign of the man that was supposed to be gravely injured or even die from the blast.

Trisha, on the other hand, spun her body before drawing her bow and arrows then released a few that struck one of the strange shamans forcing it to the ground while the other two deflected the arrow using their large staves as she landed on her feet exposing some singe marks of the spell that hit her.

The bloodthirsty looks they were giving her was heavy and terrifying as the bloodlust that enveloped the area was greater than anything she had ever experienced before!

The two shamans used a flame wave spell towards the rogue since there was no sign of the other human as well as towards Hairy that cast his own spell made of water to defend himself with a few more that made the shamans struggle to block it as they both got drenched while the third one was about to get to his feet.

Quinn who was flying in the sky acted strangely compared to the usual as it dove down like a descending, whistling missile as elongated claws formed on the paws of the blood hawk cleaved through the head of the rising shaman killing it almost instantly as its skin bubbled from how deadly the poisonous skill was and how much the effects of the blood hawk's levels bolstered the damage it could bring.

The death of the first shaman caused a third of the army of fallen minions to collapse then disappear, making the other two shamans roar in anger as their initial plans failed completely before the sound of whistling was heard again causing the two shamans to slam their staves into the ground that created a flaming dome that gradually expanded as it harmed anything that it touched including their own troops!

The choice they made maybe was stupid but at least it helped preserve their lives as Quinn quickly retreated away from the dome of death as it also killed a good portion of hairy's troops while the said shaman was casting another spell, while Quinn descended near him and Walter suddenly appeared under it on the ground in a kneeling position, with hints of burn marks.

Walter was quite pissed right now as the damned monsters actually used a trap against him so to get some revenge he pointed his hand towards the two enemy shamans then cast a spell that was difficult for him to use which worked well against magic users especially if they were channeling a spell.

He used a spell called stun!

while this spell was a basic one it was incredibly effective against enemies depending on the timing and circumstances, the effects became obvious when the two shamans he used the spell on were unable to continue using the dome that was dissipating from the lack of mana to power it.

The veins on the two shamans' bodies bulged a bit from suddenly blocking the movement of mana which brought a painful consequence one of the reasons why he didn't like using spells as the condition the shamans were suffering from was called a rebound that made the victim of this phenomenon become immobile depending on the amount of mana channeled the higher the amount of mana the longer it'd take to stop the rebound, with the other thing that made Walter extremely cautious from using magic.

the possibility of exploding!

*BOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!*

from the excess amount of magic used for the spell caused one of the shamans to blow up bringing harm to the other shaman that managed to control itself only to fail in protecting itself from the sudden explosion caused by the ally that sent it rolling across the ground with a few skids.

Another portion of the army fell then disappeared upon the death of the second shaman, while the final one, struggled to get to its feet as blood spurted out from the missing chunks of its flesh caused by the explosion earlier.

with one arm dangling by something that wasn't skin, flesh, or bone, with the other holding its staff acting as its support the monster was heaving from the excess damage that it received and with more of its lifeblood pour out of its wounds it was only a matter of time before it died.

But it obviously wanted to do one more thing but what could it be...?

Walter surely wasn't willing to find out especially after the yok'ta incident neither was Trisha so by the time the shaman managed to muster some mana and energy to cast one more spell, Walter stunned it again while Trisha finished it off with more arrows to the face.

*Phew* both sighed as the adrenaline coursing through their body was starting to wear off, and both had a silent agreement not to mention the part that they both suffered under a trap to anyone as looking at it more closely...

Anyone would've noticed if they weren't so distracted like the two idiots that were making each other agitated in a field where they could die at any time!

They checked the items of the three shamans and Trisha seemed to freak out a bit as one of the daggers the shamans were using was a present that she had given Silvia, this made a cold chill run down their spines as the darker thoughts of what possibilities might've occurred for a shaman to get her knife.

So Walter and Trisha doubled their efforts on finding some clues, The man went as far as summoning more monsters except for a certain three, Balter the older goat man was successful in finding a broken bow a few miles from where they met the three shamans, with a trail of blood which led them to a moldy book stained with more blood near some kind of collection of stone monuments, to which the two adventurers ignored as when they spread out their search a finger that was freshly chopped of was near an opening that had a passage to the underground!
