Why didn't I get the skills!?! The systems always been...fair? I mean the rewards seem random but largely follow patterns and always grant me the reward so long as I do it, even if I cheese it so long as I do something one thousand times, we'll abit less now, it gives me a skill. So where's my research skills!?! Ok just read through the old skills to find a pattern ....
.....shit.
It didn't give me "dagger" skills it gave me "iron Breton dagger" skills and until I got ten of those it didn't generate a group skills so I have to research the exact same item one thousand times to get each one, initially...ouch.
Three days later
Infused Iron Breton Dagger Research: Reduce research time and increase blacksmithing experience gained by 0.1% per level
Infused Iron Breton Inferno Staff Research: Reduce research time and increase woodworking experience gained by 0.1% per level
Reinforced Rawhide Breton Boots Research: Reduce research time and increase tailoring experience gained by 0.1% per level
Dear Lord this will take forever, if my guess is right I'll need to do this 100 times to get a single research trait for any of these items without racial style or material limitations. So 50 months? Long-term goal I won't refuse but it can't be treated as a priority. Aiming for iron and steel versions could be helpful. But otherwise... Well Fallout 76 granted me many more individual reverse engineering skills but no noteworthy group skills, also went and grinded all the knife and machete skills I could in both 76 and fallout 3 since both weapons are in cyberpunk.
3 months later I got the research skills: Infused Breton, Reinforced Breton Boots, Reinforced Breton, Breton Steel, True Barrel, True Long Barrel, Aligned Long Barrel, Heavy Receiver, Calibrated Receiver, Quick Magazine. Along the way I finally recalled turning off visibility of skills with levels lower than 1 it helps a lot but became a problem here. With these and several less notable skills I went to sleep ready to wake up in the second tutorial.
Waking up again not in control of my body I go about my day till the in car conversation starts at our job site, I absentmindedly answer the guy I'm with refusing the tutorial chip. Once we get out I punch the air repeatedly to start leaving athletics, after 10 stam wipes I check my stats.... I'm level 12, all of my skills are maxed to to attributes...I stand completely dumbfounded until it hits me, 0.1% sync shares everything, so the me in this world gained XP from my excessive grinding. So I first put 2 attribute points into each leaving 1 unspent for the moment(Body8, Reflexes8, Tech7, Int7, Cool4). Wow I've got plenty of skill points 26 right out the door. Let's burn em for safety and function...Athletics: Regeneration, Soft on your feet, Packmule. Brawling: Dazed2. Assault: Eagle Eye, Bull's Eye, Executioner. Handguns: Gunslinger, Desperado, On The Fly. Blades: Flight of the Sparrow, Sting Like a Bee. Crafting: Mechanic, True Craftsman, Workshop3. Engineering: Mech Looter. Breach Protocol: Big Sleep, Mass Vulnerability. Quick Hacking: Biosynergy3. Ninjutsu: Crouching Tiger, Silent and Deadly. Cold Blooded: Cold Blood2.
Then I added the last point to cold Blooded bringing it to 5, a little more stealth and a way to get 2 more skill points without trying. I immediately start running distractions and unarmed stam wiping myself before the elevator until I level up Quick Hacking earning another skill points which I immediately spend on regeneration. Ok let's do this.
Going in I hack every device for more quick hack XP and do several more air punching stam wipes. Then I ping the stealth tutorial guy a couple times before taking him down. Comparing his gun to mine...this encounter was leveled up but my gear hasn't been. I equip his gun a crap pistol with way more damage than mine and sneak to the next room. Some distractions, grenades and multiple headshots later(God this gun sucks!) we can rescue the girl. I dread this part but after a moments hesitation I touch the girl and get brain cooties deliver her to the evac ambulance. Then begin looting in earnest despite my new migrate and muscle spasms. Not much to write home about but when I remove the magazine from the heavy gun I realize I can put it into my inventory, so I scrap it like an over eager idiot, then start working out how to disassemble this thing, after about 15 minutes(mostly thanks to my new bug) I get it broken down enough to put the pieces in my inventory, then I begin ripping out all the computers and doing the same with them. Couple hours later the apartment is all bare walls, every body stripped with implants ripped out, including the one in the tub. The furniture was gone all broken down and scrapped, my crafting skills was now 7. Aside from the big this was an amazing start, getting to the garage, I start ripping apart the first car I can break into, several hours later it's done the car is gone, I'm puking and feel like I'm gonna die, but I upgrade all my clothing and we hit the road, gunfight I barely survive later we reach my place and I puke in my bed then collapse in it.
Waking up in my real bed I both dread and anticipate tommorow night, finally got control and it's way better than I anticipated, although the sickness really is awful. Breaking down cars is time consuming but will help me learn more about them get new skills and potentially learn something about these futuristic cars that I can bring back to reality. That'd take a lot but hopefully it'll work. If I can grab more, maybe I can more proactively design and build stuff too. I shower get dressed and go running. There's so much to do and learn, I need to be faster in every way to maximize my gains. Running with a grin on my face I keep going into this chaotic uncertain future.
