I woke up to the sunrays hitting my eyelids. I sat up, looking at the 2 boys sleeping on the mat and a wasted Maya sleeping on her bed. "Guys, wake up." I sighed, rubbing my eyes sleepily. No one woke up. I heard a soft knock in my bag. I zipped it open and brought out a happy sally jar. "Help me wake them up Sal." I winked at her. She giggled uncontrollably as I unscrewed her cover. She jump out and yelled "WAKE UP SLEEPY HEADS". They all groaned but she started jumping around, smacking them one by one as I laughed at their angry expressions.
"Ugh, my head hurts." Adrien whines, sitting up while rubbing the back of his head. "Is it only me that is scared to face Margret?" I asked around. They all nodded. "I wanna stay here for the rest of the day." Maya grumbled. "What if, I go get all our food and bring it back here while we look up that monster we saw yesterday." I insisted. Everyone was now fully awake, remembering last night events. "Yes, great idea Nate." Liam exclaimed. I smiled at him before getting up and sneaking out the locked door, into the empty cafeteria and into the kitchen. It was to early, sunrise still gathering it's strength to rise up, so every hallway was deserted. I took a plastic bag of the shelf and gathered as much pastries and drinks as possible than stuffed remaining lasagna from last night in it and fled back to the room. I locked the door once I got in and ran back to the others.
"I'm to lazy to get ready so, let's get started." I exclaimed, sitting next to Liam on the carpet, pushing the bag of food in the middle of all of us. "Ok, I haven't heard of a monster like that but, we have to search every page for it. It may help us deal with all the monsters." Adrien advised, unlocking the book as it made a click sound. He placed the book in a position we could all see.
We looked through the book, Adrien handling the pages since it would sting us if we touch it. We couldn't find anything until we cam across this horrifying creature that you only see in your darkest dreams or maybe your sleep paralysis monster.
"That's the monster." Sally squeaked. "It looks hideous!" Maya yelped, eying the picture with a disgusted eye. "Yeah, it does." Aiden agreed, nodding his head with a look I couldn't describe. "Wait, you guys need to see this." Liam mumbled, leading our gaze to the words:
'The Blood Barrier, The Bloody Door's monster, is the most powerful of monsters. It's the leader and holds all the soles of missing children. He has a dark past and an evil future. Legend says that he used to be a man but was possessed by dark magic. He is very hard to kill and to kill him will take days, weeks or even months. It's a long strategy but with determination, he can be killed. The instructions are below."
"Months?! Wait, does it say anything else about souls?" Maya asked. "It does say; Restoring the lives of the people will come as a prize after killing him." Adrien read out. "YES!" Maya exclaimed, punching her fist in the air.
The a sharp pain stung my heart. I didn't know what it was, I just realized something big for Maya but I felt guilt. I lay my back on my bed side and sighed in despair. This was all my fault....
