Chapter 5 - communication

"It's been 5 hours since she's been home" I texted my dad as I was worried about everything frantically looking out the windows, doors, and texting my bio mom about when she is going to be back to the apartment's. I just knew she would get back high; I could smell the marijuana on her when she walked in, and at this point the smell would make me sick to my stomach. A couple of days later she did her routine check on all of my electronics. She found out I was talking to my dad; she hated when any of us talked to our dad unless it was during his visiting time or when she was listening so she could make sure we didn't tell him about how we were treated. That night while I was settled into bed she took the tablet whilst screaming at me she smashed it against the wall, she shoved it into my stomach as hard as she could, she dragged me out of my bed by my pig tails through the hallway still yelling at me, she then threw me onto the living room floor proceeding to yelling at the top of her lungs. She called me slurs such as "asshat", "dick fingers", "bitch", "trash", "lying pig", "slut", "traitor", "ass-hole", "garbage" and more while she was stomping on me. She got on top of me just to spit in my face, then she made me sleep on the living room floor so she could watch my every move. The worst part is that it was the night before an important court date and should have been at my dads house because, she had beat me severely and it wasn't safe for me with her.

This happened after another incident that was much worse. Lets just say that I really could have died and CPS got involved but just let her off the hook; I am sure everyone has heard the storied about children being killed by parents that were heavily abusive and the system failed to remove them; That was one of those situations. No matter what I said nobody believed me, no matter the bruises the authorities never reported it, no matter the countless reports from the neighbors against her, and even the countless times the police had to come out and escort the people she surrounded us with out of the apartment complex. They let it ALL slide under the radar. This further proved to me that the system that was put into place to protect me was so severely broken, and that I would have to find my own way out as long as I could survive long enough to do so.
