Chapter 2 - Decision Time

Deciding to follow the organization's offer, Blake stepped outside to meet his esteemed guests. This was finally his chance, his big debut. From now on, things were going to be very different for him. He had to make the perfect first impression.

'Let's get this done and out of the way with,' Blake thought as he stretched his still sleepy body. His mind was awake and raring to go, but his still lethargic body had not quite yet caught up to the enthusiasm coursing through him.

As soon as he stepped outside, Blake was greeted with a pleasant gust of wind, which oddly enough carried a flower-like fragrance. Both happy and excited, he decided to inhale the fragrant smell before taking a deep breath out. "I wonder where that smell came from, it's amazing it smells so good... if only I could smell the hot babe that it came from," Blake blurted out unconsciously as he was about to cross to the other side of the road, heading towards the black car.

"I'm glad that you like my pheromones... although I would be a bit more relieved if you didn't make such a perverted face while smelling the air!" a sharp voice hissed from behind him.

Blake quickly turned around to find out who was speaking to him with such a cold-hearted, menacing voice. He saw a tall blonde woman with a gorgeous figure and deep blue eyes staring at him with no emotion. Next to the woman were two huge bodyguards. To be honest, whether they were actual bodyguards or not, Blake didn't know. Anyway, the important fact was that two huge, burly men wearing black shades and black tuxedos stood right behind the tall woman.

'Intimidating,' Blake thought to himself. Contrasting her blonde hair, they had black hair and standard Japanese faces, your typical Japanese-looking men... except they were bulky as hell. 'They look so different to her, she must be a foreigner,' Blake thought, gazing at the beautiful woman. After getting a closer look, Blake could tell that this woman had a killer figure. She had large, voluptuous breasts which were not too big but not too small either, just right, complemented by her slim hourglass figure and her curvaceous backside. She was a woman that would have any man falling on their knees.

Blake took a large gulp.

"What are you staring at?" the woman responded back coldly, causing her 'bodyguards' to direct a menacing gaze at him.

Startled and unnerved, Blake's brain went into full panic mode. "Who are you?" he said, gazing at the ice-cold woman and the two associates standing next to her. In all honesty, Blake already knew who the individuals were. Of course, they were from the Association. However, being in a state of panic from being caught doing some unsightly things by such a high organization, he needed time to collect his mind. 'Please don't kill me,' he begged internally.

The woman walked closer to Blake, grabbing his attention. She was now merely a meter in front of his face, her endlessly blue eyes piercing into his soul. It stayed like this for a couple of seconds. The woman then released a slight seductive smile, causing Blake's heart to skip a beat. "Yep, he has no magical ability. This is the right one."

"Get in the car," she said, pointing at him.

What? This woman wanted him to get in the car? He hadn't asked his questions yet though. "Erm... I would rather not just randomly jump in a car," he responded meekly. "Please could you first tell me what the job entails?" Blake might have been eager, but he was no idiot. If this job was very dangerous and could lead to him getting hurt, he wouldn't get involved. But since this was the Ranker Association they were talking about, he wasn't really that scared; after all, they were trustworthy, they wouldn't put him in a dangerous scenario.

After hearing his inquiry, the bodyguards let off a menacing gaze and aura whilst cracking their knuckles together. Terrified, Blake looked at them in distress. 'Surely they won't kidnap me?'

Sensing his distress, the woman swooped in, seemingly to protect him like a damsel in distress. Well, at least that's what Blake expected her to do. However, instead, she just released a sharp glare back at the men behind her. Immediately, they fell back into line like a group of trained dogs.

"Excuse my comrades' behavior, they are not very good at interacting with others," she stated, taking another quick glance at them. "Now answering your question, in the email it said your questions would be answered at the rendezvous point, did it not? So, wait patiently. I'll see to it that at least some of your questions are answered in the car. That's if you decide to join us. The choice is yours."

Blake's face lit up with a smile when he heard this. 'At least she is reasonable.' However, this quick, jovial sense of Blake's was abruptly cut off.

"If you decide to get in the car, then you won't be allowed to leave, and you must adhere to our conditions. So now it's up to you. You decide," she stated.

Blake's smile dropped off his face, and instead, now she was the one who was smiling. Right now, right here, he had to make a choice: was he going to leave or stay? For a few minutes, he pondered this situation. He didn't know what was going to be ahead of him. If he went, he would gain answers to his questions but wouldn't be able to leave. If he didn't, he would come out with nothing.

After finally reaching his verdict, Blake let out a deep sigh. "Well, I can't keep on living like this, and as an orphan, I truly have nothing to lose, so I guess I'll be joining you."

"You've made the right decision," the woman replied, smiling, whilst leading him into the direction of the car.
