Loki, who had just knocked out the mercenary, went outside and signalled Hakai to come back.
"So what did you find out?" Hakai asked almost immediately upon return.
"Did you not try to eavesdrop?" Loki asked in return.
"Young one, I'm not so rude as to listen in on a conversation between people."
"Is that so?"
"Since you wanted to interrogate him by yourself, I presumed you had something private you wanted to discuss. I'm not one to pry about personal matters. So now, aside from those, what have you learned?"
"... As expected, they were simply a distraction. There is another group that is planning to kidnap someone."
"Who?"
"That's the problem." Loki's tone turned colder. "He didn't know. Just a pawn hired through a handler. Never met the client. Didn't even know the full objective. What do you think we should do next, Sir Hakai?" Loki asked even though he already had a plan in mind.
