"Where is everyone?"
"Did we check the wrong room?" A perplexed Flint asked Jake.
"Pretty much sure we got the right class dude but that doesn't answer why it's empty, tho." Jake responded, to which Flint just nodded and said "Let's check the other classes."
The two boys were more suspicious of what was happening the further they went through the hallway and were checking for any sign of students nearby, finding nothing but empty classrooms, vacant chairs and tables.
"That's strange, I could've sworn we walked by some familiar faces while walking to school." Jake murmured.
When they checked the last classroom of this floor, Jake sighed and said, "Just what is going?"
"Beats me."
Flint decided to just sit down and opened the bottle of soda 'Might as well drink this while I can,'
He soon felt a stare as he drank some of the soda, after he gulped a few mouthfuls he simply said, "No."
"But the salt from the chips... You planned this didn't you? Petty bastard..."
Much to Jake's dismay, who soon gave up after asking a few more times and said, "Let's go back down first and find a teach' or ask other students what's going on."
"Aight."
As the two went downstairs, they saw no student as they looked through each class's window, still they saw no one.
"We've been to two floors now yet we couldn't encounter a single teacher or student," sighed Flint.
"Well, guess all that's left is the ground floor, which has the gym, the audit-" Jake sucked in a cold breath as a realization dawned on him, "F*ck! everyone had to go to the auditorium because the principal has a speech prepared for everyone. They even sent us an email last night!" Jake spoke with a hurried and panicked tone in his voice, the blondie then ran straight for the auditorium.
"Shit." Flint said his piece then booked it for the auditorium, the auditorium was located at the center of the school so it wasn't hard to find it, even with Jake's terrible sense of direction. 'It was no wonder that we only heard each other talk, why is my sense of surrounding so damn sh*tty. No use crying over spilled milk,' he thought.
When they reached the nearest entrance, "You open it," said Jake.
"F*ck no, you do it."
This went on for another 2 mins.
"No u- Argh fuck it," Flint said in defeat as he braced himself and opened the door, what greeted their eyes were...people sleeping on the ground?
Wait what? That can't be right.
The expected awkward silence with eyes turning to look at who barged in did not happen, instead, they saw everyone in the auditorium laying on the floor, as if asleep or unconscious. The silence was unnerving.
"Wha-," was the last thing Flint heard as he felt a strong feeling of drowsiness, which lead to him collapsing and falling unconscious like everyone else in the room.

A sudden painful sensation resonated in Flint's body, jolting him awake, "Urgh, what?" He groaned.
'It hurts so damn much.' Flint was even more confused as to what caused his sudden collapse and lost of consciouness, 'Let's see if there are any clues to what caused this to everyone and also why I seemed to waken up first?'
Looking at his surroundings, he realized that the door he came from had closed. 'Strange, I don't think Jake had the time to close the door before fainting but even if he did, why? Too many damn questions unanswered, ugh.' Flint scrunched up his eyebrows and just decided to see if any changes occured during the induced sleeping state.
Now that he had somewhat cleared his mind, he took his time to look at his surroundings, he noticed a peculiar sight, a faint light would glow around each unconscious person in the auditorium, their color ranged but what Flint found strange were that the colors and their frequency. From the sample before him, the grey light was the most common, followed by green which are less but still quite a decent amount of people had it, of which was followed by blue which were evidently more scarcer, only a dozen or so people had it, lastly he found 6 people glowing in purple. 'Wait, there are more colors, now?' Finn looked to his right, where Jake was, and found that he was engulfed in a pale white light, and another color was found all the way at the front of the auditorium, it seemed to be... a sort of light yellow?
'Is this a game? A social experiment? This is looking out to be really bad.'
'So, they are clearly unconscious, maybe are they evolving? Sorta explains the glow, but what about the outside world? Are they experiencing it too? Is a zombie apocalypse happening right now? Argh, should I leave the auditorium and check out what or if anything happened outside? Might as well also call for help...' And with that thought, Flint decided to leave the auditorium.
Yet when he tried to open the door closest to him, he felt a sudden pain in his chest making him gasp for air. Flint clutched his chest as his legs weakened and so he fell down to the floor. As he was losing consciousness, he weakly mumbled, "This is starting to get way too frequent for my liking."
