It had been two months since Goku returned—or rather, fused—with his younger self in the past. During that time, he had dedicated himself fully to Chi-Chi, spending every moment trying to become a better husband.
On this particular day, with Chi-Chi away on a grocery run to the Ox-King's kingdom, Goku decided to visit Bulma. But before heading to West City, he made a quick stop at Grandpa Gohan's house to retrieve the old Saiyan space pod he had arrived in as a baby. He was hoping Bulma or Dr. Briefs could reverse-engineer the pod and build a new spaceship with a gravity chamber.
He wanted to travel to other planets. Sure, he could use Instant Transmission and Instant Movement, but he needed a believable excuse—an alibi—so no one would get suspicious. It was a simple plan, but like his future son used to say: "Simple is best."
God, he missed Gohan and Goten.
He planned to visit Planet Yardrat for about a month, under the guise of learning Instant Transmission. But he didn't want to leave Chi-Chi behind—not again. That was the last thing on his mind.
After retrieving the pod, Goku got an idea and rushed back home.
As he packed his things to head to Capsule Corp, a lingering guilt gnawed at him. He hated the thought of leaving Chi-Chi, even temporarily. He loved her dearly, but the urge to explore the universe tugged at his soul. Still, he didn't want to be selfish—so he came up with a new plan.
When he arrived at Bulma's house, he explained everything. Bulma was fascinated by the ancient Saiyan pod and eagerly agreed to help.
Another month passed.
Bulma, ever the genius, had built a brand-new spaceship that looked like an octopus—inspired by the one from GT. It was fully equipped with a gravity chamber, basic household amenities, and supplies packed into thousands of capsules.
"Gosh, Bulma—you've really outdone yourself. Thanks!" said Goku, marveling at the ship like a child in a candy store.
"Honestly, it would've been a challenge with current Earth tech. But with the Saiyan pod you brought? We've had breakthrough after breakthrough. So consider this a gift, Goku," Bulma said with a proud smile.
'Finally, it's done,' Goku thought, grinning.
He would bring Chi-Chi with him to Yardrat, where he could train, and she could learn and grow as well.
At first, Chi-Chi was hesitant. She didn't want to leave Earth or their home. But Goku convinced her: this was a chance for them to bond and spend meaningful time together. He also promised they'd return within a month.
So they boarded the spaceship and set off for Planet Yardrat.
The journey was long and a bit tedious, but they spent the days playing games, chatting, and training together. Chi-Chi was amazed at Goku's strength and grace—and was eager to learn from him.
During the trip, Goku gently introduced Chi-Chi to gravity training, giving her basic pointers and teaching her how to control her ki. He modeled his teaching style after his son Gohan, who had once taught Videl in his previous timeline.
In fact, most of what Goku taught Chi-Chi came from a book Gohan had written—a legendary manual that would one day revolutionize the world.
But that's a story for another time.
When they arrived on Yardrat, the couple was greeted by suspicious stares. The Yardratians were wary of outsiders, but Goku quickly explained his peaceful intentions.
Eventually, the locals warmed up to them and agreed to teach Goku their techniques.
Goku and Chi-Chi spent their days training and exploring the strange planet. Chi-Chi was captivated by the Yardratians' unique skills, and to everyone's surprise, she proved to be a natural. She quickly learned flight, ki blasts, Instant Transmission, and even mastered the basics of Spirit Control.
Meanwhile, Goku trained hard and quickly perfected Instant Transmission, Instant Movement, and Forced Spirit Fission—or at least, that's what others saw.
As the days passed, Goku and Chi-Chi grew stronger—and closer.
Goku decided to extend their stay by a few more months, as Chi-Chi's growth was nothing short of extraordinary.
'Right now, she could probably beat Piccolo,' Goku thought, impressed.
In the evenings, they stargazed, cuddled, and talked about their dreams and the future. One night, under the stars, they made love—and Chi-Chi became pregnant with their first child. Although it was 2 months after, before he found out.
Goku was overjoyed. He couldn't wait to meet his son again. This time, from the beginning.
Another Week passed
Chi-Chi's power level had now risen to 12,000, focusing mainly on mental training due to her pregnancy. Goku, on the other hand, had spiked to 1.1 million after an incident during training.
In a sparring match with their teacher, Pybara, Goku had been motivated by Chi-Chi's pregnancy and the joy of fatherhood. He showed to much enthusiasm for a moment and accidentally defeated Pybara.
Though Pybara had clearly been holding back, only using about 1 million of his power, he was still shocked that Goku could overcome him.
Goku had revealed just a glimpse of his true strength—just enough to pass off as impressive, but not alarming.
It was during a conversation with Pybara that the concept of power levels was introduced to the couple. Curious, Chi-Chi had asked who the strongest Yardratian was. Pybara explained that power levels were a universal measure of strength.
The average Yardratian had a power level of 14 million, while elders like Pybara reached up to 57 million.
Still, despite their superior strength, Pybara couldn't shake the feeling that Son Goku was someone not to be trifled with.
As their seventh month on Yardrat came to an end, Goku and Chi-Chi said heartfelt goodbyes to their new friends and returned to Earth.
They were welcomed back as heroes, with friends and family eager to hear their stories.
Back home, life resumed—yet everything had changed.
They had discovered a deeper love, found new strength, and shared unforgettable experiences. Now, with a child on the way and power beyond imagination, Goku and Chi-Chi stood at the beginning of a brand new adventure—together.
