Levyndrion was so exhausted, why do both of his woman make him this much stressed? Audrey barks at him without proper reasoning while Acine sneak out of the castle like a cat and goes to only God knows where and what she does there. He was just so tired of all of this hide and seek with her.
Fene walked in and bowed before him, his eyes glued on his bruised hand and the broken table. "Something is off with her" blurted Levy, he took out his handkerchief and wrapped it around his bleeding hand as a result of breaking up the table out of anger.
"I would look into it sire" he said, he wasn't planning on telling him that he already is looking into the matter, Lady Acine has been a big quiz for him and he was ready to go as deep as possible to get the truth out of her real identity. His King isn't supposed to know yet. "Your hand-" he was cut off by the King "It's nothing.... let's go" he ordered and walked out ahead and out of his study room.
Fene as his royal guard had to know everything about him and so he probed since he wasn't informed where they were going to. "Where to your Majesty?" he asked calmly "To Duke Hamiltons" he replied in the same manner, even thought he was tressed that doesn't me mean an excuse to neglects his duties, he have more important things to do for his nation than give it a room to these stupid thoughts in his head.
"Yes sire" he bowed and went ahead making out orders to the lower ranked servants compared to him, he ordered them to prepare a ride for them since they would be heading out.
He then escorted the King to their supposed ride, they passed by the battle field areas, which had grass like walls or fence around them, not so high fence so one could see if they tiptoed a bit. The two of them were surprised to hear the cheering and sound of released arrows, one reason to be surprised was the timing, who could be exercising at these hours? Very strange because even their soldiers had a permanent settled time for exercises and it was never now.
Moving forward to the plant fences the two were stunned to see Audrey competing with Vincy in archery, the most surprising part was that she so good and smooth at it, all of her shot hit the bullseye.
There were some light weight bowstrings made specifically for women in the Royal castle since they were easy to carry but the Queen was using a metal one which is supposed to be heavy for her and she was so comfortable with it.
Even Vincy was surprised too, especially by her skills, he became even more fond of her. In their generation, things like that were not for ladies, a noble and royal lady like her specifically, they were supposed to learn some courtesy, tailoring, cooking and wait to get married off to a noble or royal man. But that theory seems not to be working for their Queen.
First of .... she fought with a wild beasts all alone, maybe she had a little help but still it was a miracle that she survived and now the archery seems to be like a fun play for her, she effortlessly shoot the arrow and it hits straight to the target. 'What a Queen we have here!' he was impressed because even the woman who was doted by the King doesn't have any surprising traits compared to her, the people outside and inside the castle have began to praise her for her boldness, slicing off the beasts wasn't a child play.
Levyndrion grinned without his knowledge, 'And how much more do you have in you Rey?' thought Levyndrion amused by her capabilities, actually it was a right choice to make her the Queen of Ximpton after all.
He cleared his throat and adjusted his poker face "Let's get going" sparing a alst glance at Audrey before turning around and walked away, "Yes sire" Fene's lips curled up for the first time after watching the Queen, walking behind him silently.
"Any details about the dead corpse?" asked Levyndrion as he climbed inside the royal carriage, Fene followed and sat on the other end, facing each other, he had a thoughtful silence before speaking "It appears there is someone within within village who corporate with the killer, its strange that everyone that died was for the same reason, the witness said that .... someone came to call for them and then they never returned back and the very next day are found dead and sucked dry and we saw sire" he reported, his eyebrows knitted together eager to know who it was.
Sigh .... "And who could that be?" he asked with a smirk facing outside the window, the passing trees were first due to their speed, if there is one thing that he hates 5hen riding a carriage, that's why the coachman was asked to ride at first-rate .
Well its hard to tell who he is but... I've got a clue that he wears a black clock and black hat, black mask and he has long heirs, I'm still looking into it, We shall catch him soon King" he assured gripping on his sword, the innocent people were dying everyday and scattered in the woods like some leaves, he was so very intent to catch up the killer who seemed to be smart and tricky with his movements, he can't be a normal person! he concluded that it was another hideous supernatural being.
"Mmmm..... the sooner the better, he can't be free after what he keeps on doing" uttered Levyndrion and shut his eyes, nobody ...not even his mother told him that being a King was so tiring. There were several cases of dead corpse by the forest, reported at the magistrates of different villages around Ximpton's Kingdom.
A supposed to be man in black clock appears and abduct people and then their bodies to be seen dead, not just a simple death but dried up tomthe bones! it's like someone was sucking their blood and leave their bodies like a withered flower, the night creatures or the infamous vampires would never dare to do that, he made sure no supernatural being harms the other within his Kingdom, so then who?.
The people of Ximpton have already began to talk about it, they are so afraid for their lives and that is their children's, some kept saying its a curse because their King haven't acknowledge the Queen yet .... the night of consummation between a King and a Queen is considered to be a very auspicious night, a lot if good things would happen to the Kingdom and it would continue to prosper. But the rumours has it that the King haven't even touched the Queen yet, such misfortune is a curse to the Kingdom.
The carriage stopped by a big mansion, painted in grey colour. The King got down from the carriage as Fene who came out first held the door for him, he took a deep breath, refreshing his mind from his thoughts, feeling the new and fresh air felt good, it felt very nice to be outside the castle today, he lazily rested his hands inside his pocket and glanced at Fene with a mischievous smile. "Let's catch the stupid rabbit now" he said , Fene shook his head already feeling the doom for the Duke "Yes your Majesty, the stupid rabbit indeed" he gave him a knowing look and paved the way for him, Fene knocked the door manly and enough for them to hear .... shortly a butler came to open the door .... "I wonder where is the watchmen that I gave to do his work now, very irresponsible!" he blurted without knowing who was by the door.
His eyes widened in utter shock upon seeing who was standing right before him, he quickly bowed giving a perfect courtesy, not even his master had received such treatment before. "My King!" he said with a trembling voice ..... "Are you just gonna stood me up? very irresponsible!" said Levyndrion repeating his last words to him.
The butler waved his hands like a crazy man , "No! No! please forgive this irresponsible servant of yours! please come on in My King!" he stood aside giving him a space to enter, his forehead broke with cold sweat.
The two walked inside, the butler shut the door and quickly led them to the sitting room before he rushed upstairs to calk for his master. "You scared him" said Fene who stood behind the sitted King ..... Levy smiled curtly "It's amusing" he replied unbothered by what he just did to the poor butler. Fene did add a word because this man have always been this way, happy at the people's misfortunes, but he isn't a entirely a bad man.
Duke Hamilton came downstairs with his butler behind him, he was on haste that he almost stumbled on the stairs but his butler was quick to give him a hand. He didn't expect the man here at all today!
"Y.....Your Majesty, its an honour to have you today" he uttered forcing a smile, beads of sweat forming on his forehead, this surprising arrival left him speechless .... its not that he always informs him but he is always in panic whenever he visited his home. 'Just what the hell did I do this time?' he said within him.
"Duke Hamilton .... you don't look like you are ... pleased with my visit" said Levyndrion unhurriedly crossing his legs and leaned back on the comfy couch like he owned it. 'It's because it's never a good visit!' cried Hamilton in his head, he quickly bowed and his butler did the same as his master "O ...of course! Not my King! I'm truly! I mean I'm very pleased by your presence, I'm honoured" he trembled and finally added the good words, he wiped his forehead with the back of his hand, Levy chukled and didn't say a word ..... Fene stood silently pitying the Duke.
The Duke turned to his butler "You haven't served anything to his Majesty? Do you want to die?" he yelled at him, he was already panicking and his servant was embarrassing him to the core.
The poor butler bowed apologetically and bolted to the kicthen.
He then went to sit down, facing the King with a smile, "Now...now can we get to the business Hamilton?" before the Duke could sit down in peace the King uttered tapping his fingers on the armrests.
The Duke gulped and adjusted his position..... feeling his throat drying up, just in time his stupid butler came placing the cup of tea on the table between them, he quickly picked his and drank.
Fene raised his hand refusing the butler, he bowed and saw himself out of the room. "What business were you referring to my King?" he asked with awkward smile not able to understand what he meant.
Levyndrion placed his cup on the table slowly "Well .... rumour has it .... you have new war tools called machine gun that you have accommodated from the western traders"
The Duke was frightened, luckily he didn't have the cup on his hands because he would've personally burn his own skin.
"What? War tools? I don't understand my King!" he dropped down to his knees and uttered out of panic, 'How did his Majesty found out? I'm doomed!' he cried without tears.
Levyndrion took his time taking couple of sips of the tea, he closed his eyes sniffing the aroma, it was such an amazing tea, placing back the cup on the table he shot him glare followed with a deadly smile. "Now ....now stupid rabbit, you can never outsmart me unless ..... do you want to die?" he repeated the same words he told his butler making him even more scared.
Fene didn't say a word and just enjoyed the family show, his King was the great actor .... always.
