A pair of large eyes with slits on them greeted the couple as they entered their house. It slithered towards them and with one look, Latini laid the fainted Eder on the snake and she brought him to their room. Latini disappeared and came back with a glass container. This one does not have any light on it but rather a similar looking white smoke in a spherical shape slowly turns inside the container.
Latini stretched her hand and a pair of gloves covered her hand. It was further coated by a shining red armor and it inhaling deeply, she picked up the white smoke from the container. As she did so, the red armor started to corrode at a frightening speed. Tala watched in horror as her mother grabbed the white smoke and placed it on her father's mouth. The white smoke slowly seeped in and Eder's pale face started to regain its color.
When she saw his steady breathing, she brought the glass container next to the white smoke and it obediently entered the container. Latini passed the container to Tala who's image flickered and she disappeared. Running steps are heard outside and the panting Tala opened the door to their room as she checked the condition of her parents.
Eder is sleeping on the bed, wound healed but bruises still seen on his body. Latini watched him by the side, she caressed his face gently. Her other arm hung on her side, blood dripped from it as it swayed. Tala blinked her tears and grabbed a medicine kit then sniffling, she quietly tended to her mother's arm. Latini saw this and she raised her other arm to pat her head.
"It's alright. You did great." She said. Tala sniffled but did not answer. She continued wrapping her mother's arms with a gauze. She bit her lips but could not control her eyes and big drops of tears wetted her mother's arms.
Latini looked up to keep her own tears from falling. She steadied her breathing and spoke again.
"Go check on Sasha. Your brothers are fine. Your father and I are inside during this whole time, you've guarded the house well." She said. Tala shook her head.
"I only watched over Sasha. As for the house, I put some spirit stones by the formation but I'm not sure how long it held." She answered honestly.
It's true, those colorful stones only have a little bit of energy on them that she's not sure if it kept their home protected. But that doesn't matter at all, nobody ever came here since they moved except for the group of coward burly men before.
Latini smiled, she understood her anxiety. Today was worse than before. Tala remained frozen until both moons overlapped and Eder just guided her to change afterwards. Zari's case is different, his strength is in combat and Eder needs to make sure he doesn't escape the protective cage until his full transformation. If he ever escapes, it would be a huge disaster. Not to them but to the nearby town.
"Go. Lock the door when you go out." She urged and Tala stood up to check on her little sister, she wiped her tears as she did so.
When she got out, Latini finally exhaled forcefully and collapsed next to her husband. Her body twitched as she did so and her bandaged arm got soaked with fresh blood. As she closed her eyelids, her beautiful red irises glinted and started to darken.
Outside this unique family's house, a tent is set up. Inside the tent, a woman and a black cat are busily working. The cat kept walking around the tent and carried with it lots of multicolored stones, the same type of stones that Tala placed on their gate before. But these ones have a larger size and have more luster than the ones Tala used. The woman, drew some weird shapes on a piece of paper and stuck it on any space of the tent. Once satisfied with their work, they both collapsed on the floor and heaved a sigh of relief.
"We did it!" The black cat panted. The woman just smiled contentedly.
When the two moons overlapped, the barrier covering the house weakened and gave them an opportunity to pass through it. Once they landed outside, they immediately set to work. The woman drew some images on the floor and the cat laid down the tent where the images were drawn. Once the tent is raised and the images were completed, the glaring tent disappeared from view.
"I can't believe we did it on the first try. If I don't know you at all, I'd think you've done this numerous times already." The cat was not stingy with its compliments.
The woman just breathed and smiled to herself. If she did not scout this house before it got completed then she might never had the chance to get its blueprint and made thorough preparations. She stretched her hand to rub the cat's fur.
"It's been hard on you, Luca." She said. The little black cat looked at her with its big round eyes and asked.
"Do you think we'd be able to go back?" The woman pursed her lips.
"We don't have a choice but to believe." She said.
"Are you sure they are the only ones that can bring us back to Toradashi, Lisa?" Luca asked again.
"We will find out. They would not stay in this secluded place and put their house under a formation for nothing. They are definitely hiding something. They are the only ones that can bring us back to Toradashi." Lisa straightened her back and grabbed some food from her bag. She divided it between her and Luca and they ate in silence, both looking at the house just a few meters from their tent.
"Let's review what we know so far." After they finished stuffing themselves, Luca opened something that looks like a mirror and tapped on it. There were a jumble of words written on it. The black cat tapped the flat screen with its paw and the words arranged themselves.
"They are a family of Bataris from the water clan. The young woman is an iñoka and the young man should be the black wolf roaming the forest at night. There is another teen boy who lives with the couple but I'm not sure of his real form yet and then there's the baby."
