Regardless of whether it was a shrine or a hidden chamber, what they truly housed were tablets memorializing their predecessors. Though they were Ancient Great Gods, entities that rivaled the heavens, their skill sets and Divine Skills were not innate. Even their Dao teachings were passed down by others.
Jeremiah Colon's tablet was named "Three Purities Dao Ancestor," while Central Azure Cloud Emperor's Family's tablet was called "Bryden Vance Dao Ancestor."
Great God Yi's tablet was titled "Upper Aquatic Dao Ancestor."
Goddess Yuyao's was named "Shadow Mother Dao Ancestor."
Each Heavenly Emperor had their respective lineage, yet the origins of these so-called Dao Ancestors remained a mystery, even unbeknownst to the Heavenly Emperors themselves.
