Chapter 110- A New Journey?

------------------------------------

"Ow, my fuckin' head." I open my eyes blearily, the light shining in through the window like a sniper rifle targeting my eye and causing me immense pain in the brain. I clutch my head as I moan as if somehow voicing the pain would lessen it a bit. Feeling the little aches and pains of having slept in a messed up position, I stretch my body out to its limits, feeling little pops echo out and bones cracking.I'm not that surprised when I feel my hand skim over the skin of someone else since I usually wake up next to someone in the morning, and sometimes I don't remember how I got there or who it is.

Pulling my limbs back in, I turn to lay on my side and rest my head on a hand and put my other hand on my waist. As I do, I notice I am still fully clothed. Weird, but I'm assuming I was too drunk to do much more than get into bed. Actually, not even that much, as I am on top of the bed, and my partner, whoever they are, is underneath the sheets. Paying close attention, I can only make out the back of their head, which is full of frizzy black hair that is very long and doesn't seem to be too looked after. Oh no, don't tell me the magical brew made me think a frog was a princess, and I brought back someone very disgusting.

"Woah, I haven't woken up like this in over a decade. Hehe." Hearing that raspy voice echo out, that distinctly male voice, I freeze. Did Andromeda really upset me so much that I got that pissed and, in my drunken state, ended up with a man, something that I would never do while fully lucid... would I? Before, I never thought I could, but if I did it whilst drunk, then surely that means I am capable of that? Right... No... No! NO! It is not like that; that did not happen, and this is something that has never happened.

"Who the fuck are you!" I can't help but scream while kicking out with my legs and booting the mystery mad on the ass, sending him to the floor in a jumble, the duvet wrapping him up. I can hear him moan in pain and call me an arsehole whilst I jump to my feet and start to pat down my body, checking myself that I have not left my innocence, but of course, with magic, would there even be any evidence? The thought worries me more, so I look at the bundle of cloth on the ground, and I get angry, watching as they try to unravel themselves.

"Who was the top!? Who was the top, huh!?" I shout, punctuating each sentence with a kick to what I think is the man's ribs, but given that he gives a shout of pain with each one, I'm not bothered where I am hitting. "I could take being a top; I could live with it! It's a hole, after all, and I could rationalise it! But if I was the bottom, then I can't! Everything would change if I was sodomised." This time, when I kick, it's grabbed and held, a hand having managed to snake out of the duvet cocoon.

"Stop! Stop, please! I didn't fuck you!" I was in the process of pulling my foot away and starting to kick again when I registered the words. I stopped, cautiously lowering my foot back onto the ground. "You didn't?" I question, hopefully, and that time is all the time the mystery man needs to pull himself out of his duvet bondage and reveal himself to the water, emerging like an ugly, disgusting butterfly.

"No, I didn't." The stranger says as he stands up straight, straightening out his clothes, which I am glad to see he is wearing, being fully clothed like me. I stare at him searchingly, and feeling my gaze, he sighs exasperatedly and shakes his head. "No, you didn't fuck me. Trust me, I had my experiments in Hogwarts, and after you rupture something when going too big, you don't feel like going down that road anymore. I am now firmly a giver." He laughs wickedly whilst rubbing his ass, and I ignore everything as I just feel immense relief that I am still a pure boy, just the way my mama (Gilderoy's mother) loved me. I make sure to firmly blot out all the other stuff he says, not wanting to think about any ruptures of the sort.

I look down with a smile of relief, and then I double take, and my head shoots back up to look at the mystery man, recognising his bedraggled appearance, gaunt face, scraggy hair, frizzy facial hair and crazed smile. "Sirius Black?" I question, shocked, and then I recall I had met him last night whilst wallowing in a drink and decided to hang out with the guy since Andromeda said I had no friends, but after the first couple of drinks, things get blurry, and I can not remember a thing. I watch as Sirius barks out a laugh, and then he gives me a knowing look. "Can't remember a thing, ey? I remember that very well, but I never really minded until I woke up in bed naked with an equally naked Remus. After that, I took a reminder potion, and I took it every time because I knew I was an idiot when drunk. Take that potion, and you'll remember."

I let out a scoff. "Do you think I'm an amateur? I know about the potion, but that is for weak wizards, and I don't need it. After all, if a wizard can't trust his own mind, then what can he trust?" And with no further hesitation, I sat on my bed and closed my eyes, delving into my mind to help me remember the events of last night. Some might question my lucidity, given that I am sitting down, closing my eyes, and leaving myself vulnerable in front of a stranger. To that, I would reply that even drunk me is trustworthy to some degree, and so Sirius must be okay, and I am still keeping an eye on him even whilst diving into my own mind. I said it, didn't I? A Wizard has to trust his own mind, and that way lays the true pinnacle of magic.

Okay, dore dore. Fuck, I hate going into my mind because my inner weeb comes out, and I start to say cringe Japanese things, fuck. Anyway, I go into my mind and review everything from the time I left my office and headed towards the bar, just in case I spotted Sirius following me and this was some sort of plot, but everything seemed fine. We met at the pub, started getting sloshed, and then headed out to have some fun. We headed to Grimauld Place and snuck in to play some pranks on the nasty House Elf that was there, Kreacher. He definitely is one. Then we did as all male friends do and started to compare ourselves with each other.

And as we are males, we obviously did it in terms of strength, which led to us doing some sparring, which I obviously won, though he did give me a run for my money. A poor showing from me given that man has been incarcerated for over ten years, so I need to improve myself. I have no idea where Sirius got a wand from, but he did, and I wasn't questioning it. After that, we got hungry and decided to cook our own food after, of course, stupefying Kreacher, and with us being drunk and no supervision, things got very messy. In the end, we did make some edible things, but Kreacher would wake up with a headache and have to clean up the mess in the kitchen.

After that, we headed out into the muggle world, where we could be a little freer since nobody knew us there. We hung out in a park and played frisbee with some teenagers, and I think we used magic, but I'm sure those kids were also drunk, so everything should be fine. After that, we... headed to a strip club. So yeah, seems Sirius was pretty pent up, and, well, my lustful ways were not in question, so we both had some fun there, especially after we splashed the cash, and neither of us was quite so pent up afterwards. Sirius did seem a lot more happy after that.

During this night, there was a lot of fun and a lot of shenanigans, but nothing too serious, Sirius even got interested in my writing past, and we tried to write a book together about some nonsense, but it was truly terrible. And then things got serious, and we had a good talk about our problems, commiserated with each other, and talked it out. Is this what having friends is? Sirius told me everything that happened and what he was planning, and I confided in him about my own problems. Naturally, I wouldn't be helping him with his goals since I had just got out of Hogwarts, but he did give me something to think about in regard to my own problem.

"So... Peter Pettigrew, huh? I can't believe that little rat is alive and is, in actual fact, a literal rat." I say, opening my eyes, and Sirius loses the smirk on his face and nods his head siriusly. "That's right, I've already told you everything about what happened. I've wasted too much of my time rotting away in Azkaban. It's time for me to actually do something about that little rat. I can't believe we trusted him; his literal animal form is a rat." Sirius sighs here, and there is a moment of silence.

As I leaned forward slightly, the flickering candlelight casting soft shadows on my face (why did we set up candles before we went to bed?), I couldn't help but express my surprise. "So, you've got a plan to go back to Hogwarts? I didn't expect that, to be honest." I'm pretty sure he knows where the Weasley family live, and he could go there. The security is much less than in Hogwarts, after all.

Sirius nodded, his expression intense, eyes glimmering with determination. "Yeah, it's the only place I can find him. The Weasleys are out of the country in Romania, and I think they will only be back just in time for Hogwarts, along with Peter Pettigrew. He's still out there, lurking in the shadows, hiding in plain sight. The only way I'm going to track him down is by revisiting Hogwarts. He's there, under our noses, pretending to be someone else." He paused, frustration evident in his furrowed brow as he looked at me. "I know it sounds crazy, but it's my only option."

I nodded thoughtfully, scanning his face as the gravity of his words settled in. "I understand. It's... an enormous task to undertake, especially considering your past experiences. But I imagine you've already contemplated this at length. You've had ten years. What's the plan, then? How do you intend to infiltrate Hogwarts without arousing suspicion?" Since I just left the place, I could give him some advice.

A heavy sigh escaped him as he ran a hand through his tousled hair, clearly burdened by the enormity of his task. "I've got a few strategies in mind. I'm thinking of tapping into some old connections and maybe finding a way to slip in unnoticed. If I get caught, things could get complicated, but I need to get as close to him as possible. Once I'm inside those ancient walls, I can figure out how to find him, and then I can kill him." I wince a bit at the expression of pure rage on his face when he says that.

I looked at him, my voice steady but laced with concern. "You sure you don't want to capture him and clear your name?" I say, but the look of pure vitriol he sends my way has me stop that line of questioning. "He has to die," Sirius demands. Yeah, this guy is definitely crazy after all those years in Azkaban. Let's try this another way without being so obvious. Try to get him thinking about things besides revenge and make him want to have a life again.

"You're placing a lot of faith in your instincts. I can see that. You know Hogwarts better than anyone else. I have to be honest—it's a precarious situation, without a doubt. But if anyone knows how to navigate those hallowed halls, it's you. You spent years there, didn't you?" I say, trying to make him remember all those good times and the fun he had.

Sirius smirked slightly, a flicker of nostalgia lighting up his otherwise sombre demeanour. "Yeah, I know the place well enough. But it's not the same as it once was. Things have changed. People have changed." His expression hardened, determination overtaking any lingering doubt. "But I can't stop now. Not after everything that's happened."

After a moment of thoughtful silence, I nodded in recognition of his resolve. "I get it. If you've made up your mind, I know you'll find a way. But... Sirius, I'm going to be upfront with you. I can't help you much. I'm a public figure with a business, and you are a fugitive, so I can't do anything overt. If you need any assistance, I might not be able to achieve much—" I added with a small, self-deprecating smile that barely touched my lips, "—but I can help keep things from getting too complicated on the outside. I can let people know what's happening if you'd like."

He looked at me intently, surprise evident in his eyes. "You'd really help me? You're not just saying that for the sake of a good story, are you?" I shook my head, my tone softening as I spoke from the heart. "No, it's not like that. I've witnessed enough of what this world can do to people, Sirius. I've been around long enough to understand that true bravery comes from confronting difficult truths, not just what fills newspaper headlines." I paused, locking eyes with him. "If you want to do this another way, I'll do my best to help. I might not be able to do anything obvious, but I can try to put things in motion to bring Pettigrew to justice if you like."

He paused, absorbing my words, and then nodded appreciatively. "Thanks, Gilderoy. I'll keep that in mind." His expression softened, and I noticed a hint of relief in his features as if my offer had lightened the heavy weight of his mission. "It's been a long time since anyone's extended a hand like that to me."

I shrugged, allowing a small, thoughtful smile to form. "I suppose we all find our own ways to help, don't we? I know how heavy that burden can feel when carried alone." Sirius gave a faint, wry smile. "Yeah, well, I'm used to it. Doesn't make it any easier, though." Leaning back in my chair, I felt a warmth of encouragement bubbling inside me. This guy is my friend, and I'll try to help him. "It never does. But if you ever need someone to help you pull it all together or just to ensure things remain quiet while you plan... just say the word. I'm not going to be the one to let the past repeat itself."

His resolve reinvigorated, and Sirius nodded firmly. "I'll pursue this, one way or another. But... I genuinely appreciate the offer, Gilderoy. You're a good man, despite everything." He smirked slightly. "Maybe I've judged you a bit too harshly in the past." I chuckled quietly, shaking my head. "I think we all have our moments of misjudgment. It's human nature. But if I can help you set things right, I'll gladly do so. To the best of my ability." Sirius nodded at that and then, after a moment, changed the subject.

"Enough about me, what about you? Where are you planning to take a holiday?" He asks, and I hadn't really thought about it. "I honestly don't know, haven't really thought about it. I've left the country for work before, but never to just enjoy myself." I say, thinking about when I went abroad to mindwipe the wizards whose stories had been stolen. Didn't really get to enjoy myself as I was focused, and I really didn't know where to go.

"Well, might I suggest Italy? It's a completely different feeling from England. I went there for a weekend with James when we were younger. It's a lot of fun, especially on the beaches. It's just sun, fun and happiness. The wizards aren't stuck up over there, and it's a lot freer. You should go, not stuck-up bigots there." He says, his eyes glazing as if he remembers it and has a smile on it. We chat for a bit longer before he has to go.

As Sirius stood, gratitude shining in his eyes, he said, "Alright, then. I'll figure out the rest. But thanks again. We'll see if I can't finally mend some of the past." I watch as he transforms into a big black dog, and I go open my door for him and then walk him downstairs through the business area and out of the front door. A second later, Andromeda approaches hesitantly. "...Why did you just escort that dog out of here? Why was it even in here?" She asks, unable to help her curiosity.

"Just a stray I picked up for the night. You know, since I don't have any friends.: And then I walk back to my room without giving her another glance. I'm heading to Italy, where there is nothing dark and terrible going on like in England.
