She took Wayne Lane with her to study the wall outside the window.
Teenage girls always have all sorts of strange ideas, "Wayne Lane, do you think there might be a secret room on the other side?"
Wayne Lane said no, "The light shines through the cracks in the wall; it's probably just a wall to block the window."
"Then why block the window? Is it to keep me from going out?"
Hannah's thoughts took a turn.
Wayne Lane didn't know either, because his room was quite normal; the window could be opened as usual, and there was no wall outside. He could see the ferry crossing and also the sunset.
"It's not necessarily to keep you from going out; it might also be to prevent something from coming in."
Wayne Lane simply went along with Hannah's line of thought.
Just hearing this speculation was terrifying.
Especially since the room's door was still open, and the hallway was flickering with light.
But Hannah was somewhat excited, "Do you think there might be monsters here?"
