The tone of "Promotion" didn't sound like an old man.
He didn't have the complex traits typically found in the elderly: the combination of tolerance yet arrogance, humility yet self-importance. If his words were spoken with a different voice, one might think they belonged to a young person... or perhaps a middle-aged individual.
And that was to be expected. For the spirit of Promotion had likely been severely contaminated by the "Saints."
Daring to experiment on oneself with all versions of the "Divine Descent Device"... he could no longer be considered a normal person. His original self had probably dissolved in the infinite light long ago, and the current "Promotion" could rather be described as an amalgamation of many Angels.
So, was he daring to suggest... that the act of dissolving Angels to form the Holy Order Source was approved by the "Angels" themselves?
