Chapter 12 - Gremory Clan

Since Ward joined us a few weeks ago, we have been residing close to the lake because I didn't feel confident enough in Ward to take him to my cave.

Since he claimed to be thousands of years old and that no one can spend centuries in Hell without turning corrupt unless they are a saint—and I am confident that Ward is not a saint—I have never trusted him and probably never will.

I acquired some fascinating knowledge about myself.

The first was that I discovered my other race before I began changing into... mmmm... a unique race.

Dragons, Devils, Fallen Angels, gods, and a multitude of other species all exist in my world. And I realized I was Half-Devil after Ward detected my demonic power; he named it.

Ward has encountered many Devils while working for Golden Dawn. He also had a contract with a High-Level Devil and was able to briefly utilize their magic formula.

I discovered why I couldn't use the power of my imagination to create spells, which is overpowered, in my opinion, even if I had Devil power.

When Ward found out about my species, he was undoubtedly envious since I don't have to study Human magic, which is essentially using your intellect to calculate and perform spells that Merlin invented. Thank goodness I didn't have to learn that; I am sure I would have given up halfway through since I don't have that much patience.

Resuming my earlier discussion of how my control prevented me from using my powers, I had magic skills that were nearly equal to those of a Low-Level Devil, which are superior to those that the local low-level demons have. Sadly, I had poor magic control, so I couldn't perform spells even with only my imagination.

As one of the primary components required to wield magic, imagination is not just important for casting spells.

You require three items in order to utilize devil magic.

Demonic mana

Imagination

Finally, a formula that resembles video game runes.

The "formula" that is exclusive to each Devil Family is one of the key reasons human magicians agree to a deal with a devil.

I hope I can perform spells without using magic circles or formulas, as Ward claimed that the old Devils didn't.

Given their reputation for having red hair and their extravagant passions for servants and devils, I'm positive my mother is a member of the Gremory family.

The peerage system was indeed explained to me by Ward.

Evil Pieces was created by a devil by the name of Ajuka, who is now Beelzebub.

In essence, Evil Pieces are chess pieces that can be used to resurrect anyone other than angels, gods, or previously incarnated Devils.

King Piece is the Master and the King of the Peerage.

I gained a lot of knowledge about the Gremory Clan, particularly Sirzechs Lucifer. Every time I hear about him, I become angry.

"Sirzechs Lucifer" Hearing those two words together makes me angry almost uncontrollably... Without Liya's ability to calm me down through the link, I'm sure I would have blown out on Ward and injured him.

And lastly, Rias, the stunning redhead... She must be a Gremory Devil, I'm certain of it.

I was awestruck by her beauty when I first laid eyes on her. She is the most stunning woman I have ever seen in my entire life. Even the finest model, however, cannot compete with her.

However, I could not help but think of another someone who was equally attractive from a TV program about magical gi... Well, I'd prefer not to dwell about my dark past.

Returning to Rias, I am certain that if I had not previously experienced… love, I would have been smitten by her. If I encounter her again, I will definitely ask her more about herself and magic.

A red-haired boy's hands emitted a little ball of fire.

"I DID IT!" exclaimed the boy as he noticed an orb of fire moving around his palms.

"Shut up, Tenshi! It's the middle of the night!" screamed a man sleeping in a thatch, leaf, and wood home.

Tenshi has been practicing using his Devil Powers, which are not the same as Devil Magic because they lack magic circles.

He was eventually able to create a little orb of fire today after working diligently for days. Even if any creature may simply avoid it or protect against it, he understood that was just the first step in becoming a powerful person.

"Well, Tenshi…" Ward observed the little globe of fire in Tenshi's palm and stated, "I used to think you were a moron for trying to perform spells without a magic circle, but now I am amazed."

As Liya was aware of Tenshi's infatuation with magic, she also woke up and offered her congratulations.

Tenshi was forced to take a deep breath as the flames quickly vanished from his palm.

"Take a deep breath, Tenshi... I don't want to take your stinking ass to bed," Ward replied, pointing to Tenshi's sweaty clothes.

Hearing what Ward had to say, Tenshi's lips began to twitch. Tenshi appeared to be a real person, but Ward resembled a baked man who had been mummified.

Tenshi has more than enough mana for a basic spell, but because of his poor mana control, he used a significant amount of additional mana to create a fire in his hand. He was therefore, very sweating.

Tenshi and everyone had awoken on the morning. Ward is weak and has no experience of how to hunt, but he was able to assist Tenshi with knowledge.

The information is about simple creatures and how to survive as they went closer to the center of Limbo.

There is a massive crater in the center of Hell that extends all the way to the ninth circle. The hole was made when Lucifer descended from heaven and landed in the center.

"That is referred to as Abyssal Chicken. Wings are the teardrop-shaped thing on its back. Despite the fact that it cannot fly, it can propel itself with its fast legs, which can also be used for battle," Ward noted.

Tenshi was relieved since he had planned to hunt this chicken before Ward arrived. This chicken may have fled since its speed was nowhere near its speed, and catching it without its wings was difficult.

Tenshi rose up and began swinging his Bola, making a *swoosh* sound.

Tenshi took a deep breath and fired the Bola at the Abyssal Chicken, tying and immobilizing both of its legs.

"KAW KAW," the chicken screeched, swinging its wings.

Suddenly, Ward grabbed Tenshi and put his slimy fingers on his lips as he was going to dash over to the chicken to rejoice.

"Shhhhh!" Ward muttered.

Tenshi squinted his eyes and nodded, returning his attention to the immobilized chicken wriggling around.

Tenshi was astonished by what had transpired. The shrubs in the vicinity of the chicken began to rustle.

*Whistle* *Whistle* *Whistle* *Whistle* Several whistles rang out around him, causing him to hold his spear tightly.

Suddenly, a swarm of green monsters like goblins sprang from the bushes and flung themselves at the chicken, slashing it many times with their stone daggers.

A giant muscular green creature as tall as 5 feet approached the group of smaller creatures as tall as 3-4 feet.

"Those are known as goblins, and they hunt in groups. The huge thing is a hobgoblin, and he appears to be either low level or being punished to hunt for food. Tenshi, keep in mind that as you move closer to the heart of the circle of hell, the creatures become smarter and stronger." Ward cautioned Tenshi.

Tenshi was grateful to Ward because if he hadn't warned him, he would have gotten himself killed.

Tenshi is a 6-foot-tall, powerful man who can lift over 10,000 pounds. So he felt convinced he could handle the hobgoblin on his own. But, having played video games before, he was aware of the ingenuity of the pesky greedy goblins who utilize devious techniques to win.

"Let's go... I believe more people would inquire about the Bola you tossed." Tenshi and Ward returned to the village in silence.

"Wer hat das geworfen?" The enormous green hobgoblin asked, pointing to the chicken that was laying lifeless on top of his back.

The goblins in the vicinity of the hobgoblin got no response.

*sniff* *sniff*

After taking a sniff, the hobgoblin moved toward a shrub across from them.

When they got to the bush, they saw part of the leaves were colored crimson.

The hobgoblin picked up the leaf and smelled it.

"Blut der Verdammten?"
