Feather Song didn't bother arguing with Cleo. Firstly, she knew he genuinely had no intention of attacking her; that remark just now was clearly a joke. Secondly, she still cared somewhat about her dignity—even though running outside and making a couple of "yip-yip" sounds wouldn't be entirely impossible for her, it would still come with a bit of psychological pressure. Lastly, and most crucially, there was Cleo's identity as a Summoned Demon and Apprentice of the boss at the Cloud Traveler Inn. Whether or not Feather Song planned to leave the City of Freedom anytime soon, offending someone like Cleo—who basically screamed "privileged second-generation" no matter how you looked at him—hardly seemed worth it.
So, she let it go, chuckling to herself before continuing to laze around on the table.
