Tantai Xi shot up from bed immediately the strange current of sparks reached his consciousness, pulling him from sleep.
He'd just come off from a dream, the source of the unnerving sparks of energy, but try as he might he couldn't remember what it had been all about. His mind grasped at fragments of nightmarish scenes…winged creatures that looked oddly human but with otherworldly grace of the darkest kind, veils of misty curtains splintering in half to reveal realms beyond, a looming monolith so vile it burned with all the malice and hatred in the world, a familiar voice calling out to him from some part of the deepest ocean…but nothing lingered long enough to make sense.
