Sometimes, Suga would see his mother sitting by herself, staring blankly at the door with empty eyes.
And whenever she was like that, no matter how many times Suga called out her name, it often went unheard.
Only after calling again and again, when his tiny hand finally touched her shoulder— would she jolt in surprise, face pale, her eyes wide with horror as they turned to him. It was like she wasn't even aware of herself for a few seconds.
Then, slowly, her breath— frozen without her realizing it— would escape her lips. And when she finally recognized that it was Suga standing in front of her, she would immediately pull him into her arms.
With a joking tone and a bright smile, as if that moment of blue-faced terror had never happened, she would say, 'Ah, my little Sugar, you startled me.'
That happened often.
Whenever his mom began staring silently at the door, Suga would try to distract her with whatever topics he could think of.
