Resting in a back ally from his day of searching and he had still yet to catch a wiff of a rift opening anywhere near here. "The problem is they control who goes in and out of the tower and the only way around it is a rift so they are constantly closing them or locking them off from the public. Aimlessly he drifted his hand across the air in front of him and opened his system.

His stats were the same as they had been but he just thought about something." Leveling up the long way took awhile but thinking back, something changed after my agility hit 100" I wonder would something change with my mana if I use these attribute points?" Though he had been traveling for a while his information on the system was scarce, it's only unlocked when you awaken, otherwise you're forced to survive on your own. I'm glad I awakened but what about the people who don't become hunters. Why do we exist, why is there a system in the first place, humans weren't like the other races with various abilities or magic. Beastly strength or control of nature. But the humans were granted their own"advantage" if you will, while other races are born with system actsess because the base power of the species is so high a human won't receive it till he's at least a teen. Unlike the other species who had natural stat and skill advantages humans have the easiest time gaining traits and titles. When someone who was strong before tries to incorporate the traits or title of someone incompatible it will cause pain or even damage their foundation. They need synergy and need to work with the body's natural function, the flamelings from the ashen plains would die if they used a frost trait but a rock or magma trait would work fine. Because humans were born without such an ability or traits for that matter they can pretty much fuse and develop their traits in any direction they please, and while having synergy is best they would be far more likely to make both a fire and an ice trait work together, than just about anyone else. Basically they have the trait of infinite customization, with training and acclimation a human can fuse with far more traits and be able to utilize them better regardless of synergy. The downside is they don't have natural traits and are forced to steal them all. With a small ding such thoughts cleared from his mind as he read his new notification.
[Mystic stat has reached the 1st threshold, shifting eyes and silent words. The mystery of Magic is impossible and profound, you have comprehended the first page. Mana capacity has been doubled, magic attacks now have a 30%buff, unlock passive skill mana sense]
He felt strange for a moment before a chill ran down his spine as he finally felt the real gravity of the place he was in. Before he could detect the magic it was like a bad premonition, he could even see a few hues of lightstrams in the air, that was just because the density of magic was so high that it had became visible. Like a tidal wave he felt the mana rolling behind his eyes and felt the choking smoke of nature and that he was drenched in. As if he was under a weighted blanket that only began to exist the second you realized it was there, then it was gone in the next as he steadyed himself on the wall while he caught his breath." So that's what happens when you hit 100, it's quite the intense difference, though I'm going to need to mess with that mana sense, I kind of could notice it before but this is the difference between being blind and staring at the city skyline." He sighed as he rubbed the bridge of his nose trying to beat back the headake that was starting to drum up." It's too much right now but I'll assume that's the next step in this whole, how does magic work thing." Walkimg out of the alley he was prepared to go back to the inn to rest before continuing to look for a rift but his ears picked up a subtle roundness about a 1 south towards the woods. His eyes dully turned a burnished grey with speckles of twisting indigo as they began to briefly pick up mana again before he shut it off again. " Yeah that's the densest spot in miles if it ain't there then I'd be better off not going in the dungeon cause my luck just wouldn't cut it... Pfffft man I don't know what exactly it does but I don't think it's supposed to be at 99." He just laughed it off and made a B line strait to the woods only stopping when he had finally caught sight of the rift. Just as he was about to start reach out for it he heard some russles in the trees opposite to him, he could faintly make out some form of speech and quickly threw himself to the ground and rolled behind one of the fallen logs that scattered the Forrest floor.
The duo walked up closer to the rift their words resounding with a crisp tone the man in red hair spoke with 'so it's these two, I thought rifts were dangerous eh?'
"As I've been saying Marcil this could be a great business opportunity, an untaxed dungeon run could last us for a few months."
" I know the benefits of using a rift but you always forget about the drawbacks. It doesn't start you of floor 1 it lands anywhere between 1 and 10 I've even heard rumors that it can take you to a secret underground stage. If you land at 1-4 it's fine you can get to 5 and get out but there's no way in hell we'll survive landing after 5 without a party, level 7 needs a full team to clear the raid, and number 10 is a PVP stage, if you get a bad match you're screwed."
"Then we can go get a party who's willing to do some work off the books. I understand it will cost a bit but if we miss out on this it will take weeks of farming to bring in the same amount, plus that's even after paying the other party too" The red haired man made a pinching motion with his fingers like he was counting coins.
"Sometimes you gotta take a little risk, wadya say let's strike while it's hot." The red haired man nudged marcil's side as he awaited his response. "Fine ya sly dog you go find a party for a black dive, I'll go set up some security in the area so nobody gets any funny ideas." His tone was that of a tired dad too exhausted to argue anymore about it. They rambled on a bit more as they surveyed around the site, it gave Tael a bit of a spook since they ended up closing in on his position, he had to blip around from tree to tree to keep out of sight. Watching the duo head out of the Forrest to begin their little escapade, He breathed a sigh of relief as he finally stepped out to get a good look at the rift. It's edges were constantly cracking, shattering and reforming again as charged waves bounced and curled up on the surface of the rift that seemed to bow inwards toward infinity. The air crackled with sparks of countless hues he was watching the color invert and shift before his very eyes.
"It's quite the beautiful sight, like a single water lilly in a desert, so beautiful but it still won't take long to dry up and disappear as if it was never there to begin with." His eyes filled with sparkles of indigo as he paced back slowly, taking a stance close to the ground he reddied himself. "Well it all comes down to this huh, welp I've come this far if I fail now then I guess it was never ment to be then."
Then he broke out into a mad sprint, his legs danced with thunder as he leaped into the air, and dove into the shimmering rift. He crashed in like a thunderbolt as he felt space curve and twist as he was yanked forward but also stopped moving, before the world twisted upside down again.
