After the sisters left, Qi Han hung up a new hiring sign, similar to the previous one but with "salary negotiable" added.
Just as he was about to head back inside, a young, ragged voice called out.
"Excuse me..."
Qi Han turned to see a small beggar in tattered clothes standing by the hiring sign.
"Are you calling me?" Qi Han asked curiously.
After receiving a nod, he smiled. "What can I do for you?"
The little beggar hesitated before pointing at the sign. "Your shop is hiring. Can I try?"
Qi Han looked the beggar over carefully.
The boy was thin but relatively clean, with patched but washed clothes.
The dirtiest part was his bare feet, covered in calluses and dust.
Seeing Qi Han's gaze, the beggar shrank his feet nervously.
"What's your name? How old are you?" Qi Han asked gently, feeling a wave of sympathy for the scrawny but somewhat clean-looking boy.
"I'm Ke Ke. I'm sixteen."
"Sixteen?" Qi Han almost doubted his ears.
The boy had a visible Adam's apple and was clearly a boy, but looked younger than the Qin sisters.
"I'm really sixteen." Misunderstanding Qi Han's hesitation, Ke Ke straightened up, trying to appear taller.
Straightened, Ke Ke was about 1.7 meters tall, convincing Qi Han he was indeed sixteen.
"Come inside. Don't stand out here." Seeing Ke Ke's clothes, Qi Han felt uncomfortable.
