Cherreads

Chapter 370 - Chapter 370: One's Found Embrace

CLAP!!

The head of the Umibozu popped like a balloon once Atlantis clapped its hands between them, boiling the ocean away in a mere instance, as it reached its standstill. Cherub would take aim and blast down a beam of holy, white light, with Puzzlmina enhancing its effects further by a roll of a die.

16.

An effective hit, cleansing and exorcising most of the souls in its watery depths. As the mist settled, the spirits within it would begin to rise, once more being at peace. The people in Khepros, as well as the children, were in awe at such a beautiful sight. One of such figures, however, was recognized almost immediately, as he'd toss back down the tape and recorder to Stolas, having him catch it before it fell down to the rocky chasm below. "There you go, lil' man. I'm...sorry for taking it. Someone really special helped me remember what I was long ago. Couldn't help it, I suppose..." A light joke made by the spectral figure, as he'd be whisked away to the sky, walking upwards, the small doll in tow.

Stolas can't help but feel a bit bad he behaved so selfishly for his father's voice, yet also relieved he was able to regain his humanity at the last moment. He'd smile and nod as the musician departed, accepting his apology.

As the people in Khepros cheered, they'd be quick to rip down a part of the massive wall made, a national landmark for Khepros after such an event, dubbing it as 'The Monk's Hands.' The children would fly their way back to the Scarab, watching the people shout and scream in jubilation, making them realize that they truly became heroes in this moment, even if one of them was responsible for such an awakening. Harvard's parents quickly swooped back in once they reached land, scooping and cradling their son, hugging him profusely, tears down their eyes. "I KNEW YOU CAN DO IT! I knew it, I knew it, I KNEW IIIIIIT!!!" Limosa squealed, having Ichabon chuckle at seeing her enthusiasm. Despite such excitement, however, the boy could only well up in his own tears, his fears made real, his worries just as prevalent. Limosa merely kissed him on the forehead, petting him, as he'd try to look up. "Sweet little angel...Were you scared that we wouldn't like you anymore?" She'd coo. The boy merely nodded his head in response. "Don't you worry a thing, my little Helsing. It's what we're about, anyway! To be a monster is a privilege, otherwise I wouldn't be able to use my magic, remember? You don't need to be so scared about us. No matter what happens to us...we will still love you, just as much as you love us." Her words would break the boy somewhat, a smile on his face, crying into her mother's embrace, hugging her tight, happy of her acceptance.

BANG!!! SHIKK!!!

A clean shot, straight through Limosa before she even knew it. Ichabon was quick in catching the projectile, preventing it from cutting any deeper, but the damage was already done. The Card Magician looked on towards the source of the shot, seeing the imp-like creature taking such an opportunity. It cackled as it tried to set up its arm once more, setting up Lemegeton and a monster to fire back. The Demon dodged it with ease, nearly prompting it to mock the child for such a miss.

SHIKK!!!

A direct hit. The Imp would be pinned across as the bullet connected. The creature turned its head to see Miyashi being shot, its sword retrieved and stabbing him straight through his gut. The fused beast smiled as it took another shape, expanding outwards and trapping the Imp in its cube-like prison. Rubix was summoned, a spell implanted to swap out Miyashi for the geometric beast, waiting for the four to intervene and finish the assailant themselves. Harvard looked up towards his Mother in fear, though with her smile and small laugh as the projectile was taken out and the spectral form kicked in to prevent further bleeding, he can tell she was Ok. He'd get down from the two and let his parents be led to a hospital whilst he and his friends went after the demon.

As the boys entered Rubix's body, they could see multiple landscapes shifting around, before stopping at one in specific. One layer was an ocean, the other a Jungle, a third a Catacombs with a Judge residing over them, its pale eyes staring down at the four once they arrived. As soon as they touched something integral into the environment, they were transported to somewhere else, seemingly at random. They were relentless in their hunt, trying to interact with as much objects as possible to find the Imp, from a Shipwreck to take them to an island made out of silk and feathers, to a Sword from a skeleton to take them to a carnival, complete with flashing lights and mascots of vibrant shapes and sizes. It wasn't long before their chase ends, reaching into a blank room with zero's and one's all around, as if they were living in code. "Gah....Damn it all....What kind of poison was that blade laced wi- GYAHHAHAHAHAAA!!" The Imp shrieked, panicking as he backed away, watching as Harvard regained back his malicious eyes, his contempt fed straight down into his soul, seeing his allies setting up their own spells to assist and ruin him further. He'd try to aim with his foot, a sharpened bullet made onto his fingernails. "S-STAY BACK! I'M ARMED! I WON'T LET YOU-"

"That is enough, Mollen." A voice that rang from above, catching the attention of everyone in Rubix's dimension. A cloaked figure, with a frown hidden in the darkness, perched on one of the many platforms that dart around the realm. "I believe you've done enough service today..." he'd continue, driving the imp to tears.

"O-oh....M-Master-"

SHIKK!!

A shriek of pain as the Imp fell over, clutching his mouth, tasting the blood that leaks out from his wounded tongue. "I don't recall giving you permission to use my name, Mollen. Nor do I recall giving you a reason to panic."

"B-B-Bu-"

"Silence yourself, NOW. Be glad I haven't expressed that you're the one responsible for such patricides here." Such a statement would make Mollen tense up, his eyes widened, his sly words weaving towards his misfortune even more. As he'd turn his head to see their reaction, he'd be terrified in seeing the once blank room now filled with monsters, demons, constellations, and the three Harbingers that floated freely in the air. All of them now possessed such a fire in their eyes, a tendency to kill. A brisk shockwave would push away the cloak and reveal who was underneath, as all the beasts would launch an attack on all sides.

The Leader himself, Jesta Spade, merely smiles as he was exposed, watching the inevitable carnage unfolding. "Oh dear...I spoke too much. Forgive me, dear Mollen. I was a bit frustrated with your cries. I may need to take a moment if such annoyance turns to anger. I'm sure you don't mind that, do you? It'll be just for a minute." The Jester would taunt as he'd enjoy the screaming of the imp, hearing his pleads and begs for such a rescue.

One that he will never reach.
