Chapter 1 - 01 Stranded & Left To Fend

I was just your run of the mill, Japanese high school girl. Life was as average as it could have been. Boys fawning all over me, girls coming to me in hopes gaining my favour, good grades and athletic abilities, you name it! How is this average you might ask, well? Compared to my current life now, the standard back then may as well be mediocre. Back, then I was all so gleeful about this situation but now I want nothing more than to be rid of it and live a peaceful life away from other people.

I woke up to the sound of voices, however when I opened my eyes, there was nothing there. Instead, all that greeted me was a wall of darkness. However, the voices didn't fade away if anything they seemed to have gotten louder. Almost like people are excited or celebrating a special occasion, but what does that have to do with me? I don't remember it being my birthday, the last thing that I could even recall was a blinding flash that engulfed the entirety of my classroom.

Just as I was about to wonder about the various questions that were popping in my head. The darkness slowly retracted and bit by bit I could see the light. Yes, the beautiful and encompassing light that brightened the pitch black world I was in up until recently. I could feel someone pick me up and slowly began to make out the faces of a ton of people. Those voices I heard just now must have been from them. Yet, I did not understand a shred of what they were saying. Are they not Japanese? Am I no longer in Japan. Immediately, these questions come to mind, and that's when I tried to stretch my arm towards the figure with purple hair that was currently looming over me to no avail. Have my hands always been this small?

That's when the man who is holding me in his arms speaks to someone before starting to cry. Wait, what don't cry, dude? I tried to voice out my thoughts, but no words came through. This left me quite stunned for a few seconds until at that moment. A grim realization sets itself upon me, I don't know this guy, and my arms are way too small to be those of a 18 year old's, is this, nah uh no way, but wait.... blinding light, classroom, unfamiliar man, foreign language, small hands, inability to speak. I've been reincarnated into another world, haven't I?!

Well, this is a little new. It's been officially 4 months since I reincarnated as a newborn baby. My name in this new life is Aisa Heisn, and I am the daughter of Duke Heisn and Duchess Satinne. It was quite hard initially not getting a gist of this world's language and all, but through a little bit of immersion and sneaking into Father's personal library. I acquainted myself with this world's tongue and eventually understood most of the daily conversations carried out within the mansion. Yes, you heard that right, a freaking mansion!! Forget a penthouse or studio apartment. This thing is a whole freaking mansion. Guess what? That's not all this ain't your ordinary mansion either. This thing is HUGE. It spans across 2 entire soccer fields in my old world with 7 separate floors!!! How... in the new world, is this even a thing, and how loaded am I lol. Anyways, I currently have the unfortunate pleasure of having to see my father and mother argue about a matter most trivial.

"Aisa should be sent to the Knight Academy and become a capital knight just like myself in my prime." said the duke. But my mother was in clear opposition to this matter and wasted no time in voicing out her opinions.

"I disagree, Aisa should be sent to the Sorcerers Academy, one look at her purplish eye that simply brims with overwhelming magic power, and you will understand that she is fit for the duties of a court mage!" Court mages are basically like the big shots of magic in this world. Yes, you heard that right magic, I still can't believe it myself, but whenever my mom attempts to entertain me. She always uses magic to conjure flames from her hands and juggle them around. I got to say, though, she has one twisted sense of entertainment. I was almost lit ablaze by this mad woman. One time, when she wasn't careful, she let a fireball slip out of her grasp, and that very orange bright hot ball landed near me. GOSH, can you imagine the shock I felt, thankfully my reflexes in my past life were top of the line, and upon seeing the fireball burst into flames, I crawled away from it as quickly as I could but jesus, my mom is such a clutz.

"I heavily concur to this, our daughter is clearly fit for knighhood, look at that red beady eye within it burns a passion for the skirmishes of war!" my ever dramatic father declares with a hint of fury in his voice. Possibly from how many times they had this exact conversation since my inception. Also, did you notice something a little off? Yeah, that's right, they used the singular tenses when referring to my eyes. Yep, it's exactly what you are thinking, I have heterochromia. it's pretty cool if I do say so myself.

Oh yeah, the main reason for my parents being opposed in regards to wherever to send me for my future studies and career is because of my eyes. You, see, apparently my father, the uke, was a renowned and established knight in the empire during his golden days. I don't really know much about it, but the fact that I have someone like that for a dad is kind of awesome!! On the other hand, my mother is still a court mage working in service to the emperor himself. Can you believe it, I was born to high-specs parents who have amassed quite the reputation for themselves. Anyways, apparently, the colour of your eyes in this world reflects your future profession. How do I know this, you ask? Well, the servants who normally keep watch over me tend to be a little chit chatty with one another. They spilt an overwhelming amount of tea, and I grew to learn that your eye colour in this world reflects your capabilities as well as your future profession.
