Adrian Desmond wasn't a man who lacked understanding of human nature; he knew how to read people. So, when Sienna Johnson consistently replied with only one or two words, it was obvious she didn't want to talk to him.
"Could you say more than just a few words?" He sounded utterly helpless. Even if she wanted to brush him off, she shouldn't be so blatant about it, at least not so obvious that he could see through it easily.
"Sixth Master, you're a busy man with many important matters to attend to. I won't disturb you any further. Goodbye!"
"Mai!" Seeing she was about to hang up, he immediately called her name to stop her. Sienna clearly heard him but still resolutely ended the call.
"Damn it!"
Adrian immediately redialed. Sienna placed her phone on a nearby rock on the ground, enduring her body's soreness as she began to recall the day's training routines, move by move. The phone's ringing became mere background music.
