Ezra floats through the river, lying upon the log Caine cut for him.
"This is soooo boring! Didn't he say there would be fish and animals trying to eat me or something? I want a challenge! Samael's probably fighting a bear right now while I'm here floating away doing nothing."
And as if the world heard Ezra's plea for some form of excitement, a great blue beast rises from the water and swallows Ezra whole.
Ezra is thrown into the water, and to make things worse, he's being sporadically tossed and thrown around all over the walls of the river. This continues for a couple of seconds until he's thrown into a large body of water and left floating in the middle.
Ezra takes a moment to assess his situation. He's in a lot of pain, his nose is irritated from the water, and all of his senses are thrown off and disoriented because he's underwater. What's worse, he feels the eyes of hundreds watching him. Ezra's priority. Get out of that water.
Ezra begins swimming up with all of his might. He doesn't have much air left, so he has no time to mess around. Those eyes finally reveal themselves as hundreds of carnivorous fish, and they're hungry. Hundreds of fish begin to swarm Ezra, the fish being creatures of nightmare, with bladed noses, sharp teeth, and sharp dorsal fins. These creatures were predators set on having Ezra as their prey.
Soon enough, Ezra was surrounded and covered in shallow wounds and bite marks. The water was littered with red streams, almost pointing towards Ezra, showing all of the fish where the next feast will be.
With no way left to escape, the fish charge towards Ezra, and with no other choice, Ezra gives in and prepares an incantation. But just as the incantation forms, Ezra is met with a painful blow to his abdomen. He's sent flying out of the water and into a nearby tree. As he hits the ground, he throws up all of the water he swallowed.
"Arguahhd, I don't remember swallowing this much water! Aghhfbb, I can't believe that I almost died to some stupid fish!"
Ezra glares at the nearby body of water. He imagines the fish chatting amongst themselves, telling tales on how they nearly killed the great Ezra Larind and how they forced him to retreat. He cannot let that happen.
"Those cocky fish! I can't leave any witnesses."
Ezra sets up a fire nearby and undresses. He takes a deep breath and jumps into the water. Ezra Vs Fish, round two. This time, Ezra is prepared. Ezra feels the various glares of the fish. They're hungry, and Ezra is on the menu. While under water Ezra is very disoreinted, his eyes are shut due to the fear of having them sting because of the water, his ears are overwhelmed by the sound of the swishing water and chaotic swimming fish, he cant smell or taste anything because he's holding his breath, and everything feels weird under water. Fortunately, Ezra isn't worried in the slightest; he looks enthused, almost.
Ezra doesn't see the fish as a threat, and he plans to test out and experiment with that 6th sense Cain mentioned. Ezra gives the fish taunting looks and uses his nail to draw blood from his palm. Inviting the fish to come feast. Soon, one brave fish with a bladed nose rushes towards Ezra. When the fish got close, Ezra's sixth sense warned him of the general direction the fish was coming from. Using that, he swiped his hand in that direction and hoped for the best.
Soon, a smirk appeared on Ezra's face as he felt the fish struggling in his hand. He threw fish out of the body of water and once again taunted the fish. This time, multiple fish swarm towards him. Using his sixth sense, he's able to avoid most of the pursuit, and he snags a couple of fish now and then. Ezra repeats this routine until he runs out of breath. Ezra eventually resurfaces and cooks the fish he caught.
"It's not much, but I can feel my sixth sense getting better. You know what, I'll be bullying these fish for a lot longer than I thought."
Ezra finishes his meal, stretches, and dives back into the body of water. Ezra then continues the same routine of taunting the fish and dodging their pursuits. With every dance, he feels his sixth sense becoming more potent. It started with the range of his danger sense becoming wider. Initially, he could sense danger a couple of inches from him, but now he could feel it from a couple of yards away.
It's also become much more precise; it's no longer a general direction, he can sense where and what the danger is coming from. Eventually, the fish stopped entertaining him. Ezra took one last dive into the body of water, desperately searching for fish to entertain him, all to no avail. As time passes, Ezra continues to search, even diving deeper into the water than he has before. In his desperation, Ezra began to see flickers of light within his darkness, which is strange because it's nighttime, the water is dark, and his eyes are closed. What he sees is multiple misty shrouds. Each is a unique color and size. He sees hundreds of small ones and tens of large ones.
The smaller ones seem to be hiding away, almost cowardly in nature, while the large ones seem to watch in disregard for Ezra. As he dives further in, he finds bigger shrouds, and they develop more into silhouettes surrounded by shrouds of mist. Before Ezra could indulge any longer, he had to swim up and catch his breath. While on the surface, Ezra experimented with the lights he saw. They were a result of his proficiency with his sixth sense. He can see his misty veil and manipulate it. He discovers that making it smaller makes him seem more vulnerable, while making it larger makes him seem more intimidating. Using this terrorizing, the fish in that body of water became much easier.
Soon, Ezra becomes bored with the fish and travels into a nearby forest, in pursuit of furthering his skill with his sixth sense. he travels and navigates with his eyes closed using his sixth sense to guide him. As he encounters a great wall. There's no wall in front of him, but a large grey misty veil, and he cannot sense anything inside of it.
"My body's telling me this place is dangerous, so I'll be going the opposite direction."
As Ezra turns to leave, a strange beast leaps at him, and he narrowly dodges it. Ezra's eyes are closed, so he can't see the beast's appearance. Even stranger, the beast's silhouette isn't clear. It's as if it's constantly changing shape and size.
"This should be fun."
