Shoji and Axel looked at Rama. They didn't need to say anything because the weight in their eyes said it all.
They knew how much this was costing him. How much he was holding back. They had all fallen into this mess and Larsen was already on him like a hound that had finally cornered its prey.
And he wasn't going to let go until he got what he wanted.
Larsen's voice broke the thick silence. "Come on," he said, a little too eagerly. "What are you waiting for?"
Rama looked at him. The glint in Larsen's eyes gave away more than his cold tone ever could. He was excited and hungry. He wanted something and Rama was the key.
If he gave an answer Larsen didn't like, he had no doubt the man would force him to comply. Especially now with eight Hunters at his back, Crimson Vale outnumbered them, outgunned them, and outranked them.
"I'll take a look at the altar," Rama said, keeping his tone flat and his expression calm.
