Chapter 345 - Chapter 345: Dwarves, Dragons, and Destiny

"Sir, Sir!" The dwarf who had saluted Lann at the beginning was obviously a smart one. He knew what would happen if a giant dragon descended upon his town, and he also knew that crying here would not help at all.

He also knew that there was only one person who could help them.

"Please, save the Ferenc clan!" He knelt directly in front of Lann, and the dwarves behind him also reacted in time, kneeling one after another.

The Scoia'tael behind him suddenly looked at Lann with resentment. Kneeling was not a Mahakam custom, and it was even more of a shame for the dwarves. They seemed to think that it was the human in front of them who had forced these young people to perform an etiquette that was not in line with dwarf tradition.

And Lann just sighed when he saw this. Even if these young people did not ask him, he would have gone to rescue the Ferenc clan. In fact, he had already started preparing after seeing the flight trajectory of the red dragon.

"Kolgrim, I'll go back to the Hag's Pit first. Geralt and the others also saw the fire here before, and they will be here soon. After you meet up, escort these young people back to the Ferenc clan together, and be careful."

"Okay." The Viper School witcher nodded simply, "I won't tell you anything about 'be careful,' you need to pay attention to your opponent."

Kolgrim patted the calf of the ice giant and jumped back into the team so as not to interfere with the actions of the big guy.

At the same time, Lann's sight deviated. Before leaving, he had one more thing to do—

With a flash of golden light, the Scoia'tael was horrified to find that the knight who could control the giant had suddenly appeared in the middle of their team. They had tried their best to keep a distance from each other for safety before, but now this defense seemed to be useless.

The next second, a strong telekinetic impact unleashed a storm that spread around, centered on the knight. All the Scoia'tael dwarves stood up without any resistance, crashing into the rock walls and the ground like weeds, screaming, and some even fainted.

Lann said lightly: "Tie them up and take them back to the Ferenc clan."

"Of course." Kolgrim raised his eyebrows happily.

Lann no longer needed to worry about what happened next. [Blink] was activated, and he appeared on the shoulder of the ice giant again. Then the giant, as majestic as a mountain, took a step forward and quickly went away with rumbling ground tremors.

The whistling wind blew past Lann's ears. In the mountainous terrain, the speed of this ice giant was faster than the black wind!

Milva looked at the direction where Lann was going in a trance, and it took a long time for her to recover.

A bottle hit the maid's head, grabbing her attention.

Milva hurriedly caught the bottle, and when she looked closely, she saw that it was Kolgrim who was constantly taking out small bottles of suspicious colors from his alchemy backpack, preparing to feed the unconscious Scoia'tael with them, adding another layer of insurance.

"Are you back to your senses?" Kolgrim looked at Milva and smiled evilly, "The people have gone far away, come and help quickly."

Milva glared at Kolgrim in dissatisfaction.

Since they didn't bring hemp ropes, the Cintran soldiers directly untied the belts and leggings of these Scoia'tael members, or directly tore their cloaks to make ropes and tied them up tightly. Coupled with Kolgrim's special potion for the Viper School, these Scoia'tael members no longer had the possibility of becoming an unstable factor in the team.

Just at this moment, the rumbling sound of horse hooves sounded not far from the valley, and Geralt's men arrived late.

"You came just in time, Geralt." Kolgrim greeted his fellow witchers enthusiastically, "We have just finished our work here."

Geralt looked at the field where Lann, the ice giant, and the red dragon had fought before, which seemed to have suffered a landslide, and then looked at the Scoia'tael on this ground, and couldn't help but sigh. "I am also glad to see that you are safe, Kolgrim."

The two witchers hugged each other tightly.

"I believe you have also seen the flight path of the red dragon. It went towards the direction of the Ferenc clan. Lann went to rescue it first." Kolgrim pointed out Lann's whereabouts to Geralt.

Geralt sighed: "It is a test of eyesight not to notice the big guy flying and spewing blood. But even such a seriously injured red dragon cannot be countered by conventional forces, not to mention that the young people of Ferenc are now outside clearing monsters... I just hope Lann can make it in time."

But both monster hunters knew that no matter how long the legs of the ice giant were, they could not be faster than a flying dragon, even if the dragon was seriously injured.

Kolgrim sighed and looked at the companions brought by Geralt, suddenly showing a strange expression.

"Did something happen to you on the road? Why is there suddenly one less person?"

Geralt immediately displayed a puzzled look upon hearing this.

"It's the new one, the girl from Zerrikania, who looks very capable."

"Where 's Saskia?!"

Geralt suddenly turned around and began to count the troops. He didn't know what he had thought of, but his expression became inexplicable.

"Ah!"

The Ferenc clan had always regarded the red dragon as an imaginary enemy, but they never thought that the long-dreaded disaster would come so suddenly.

Most of the clan's warriors had gone out to clear monsters or had resumed mining in the caves. The only people left in town were the elderly and weak, who could not wield weapons, and the parents who had been allowed to stay in town to wait for their children's return.

These parents never expected that they would neither see their children return nor the human warriors, but instead, they were met with the roar of a dragon.

The voice was weak but full of anger. Then—

Dragon flames fell from the sky.

In an instant, several houses turned into torches, and the rocks began to melt faintly. The dragon landed while flapping its wings and spewing blood, and with a sweep of its tail, it completely shattered a house, as brittle as charcoal, into pieces.

"Ferenc! Dwarves!" A deep voice, like a tolling bell, echoed over the town. "This is the debt you owe me!"

The dwarves fled in all directions, while Chief Vavrinek ran out against the crowd, shouting that he needed to organize an effective defense.

The dwarves who had the courage to pick up weapons had already rushed toward the dragon. Vavrinek looked over and saw that although the red dragon was massive, its movements were extremely agile. With one claw, it crushed the necks of three dwarves, then grabbed a fourth and flung him into the air.

These scattered and unorganized dwarves posed no threat to the dragon.

Then, the dragon's dark golden vertical pupils, as large as millstones, locked onto Vavrinek, hatred flashing in its eyes.

The dwarves of Mahakam had fought several wars with Keltullis centuries ago, and they had finally reached a peace agreement because both sides had suffered devastating losses. Dwarves have long lifespans, and Vavrinek was one of those who had fought against Keltullis. Perhaps it was precisely this experience that allowed him to become the patriarch of the Ferenc clan.

At this moment, the dwarf and the dragon looked at each other, as if re-enacting the battle from hundreds of years ago.

There were no warriors left in town capable of fighting the dragon, and it was time for the clan leader to launch a final charge.

However, before Vavrinek could fight for his dwarven honor, another earth-shaking dragon roar suddenly erupted from the sky.

"Roar—!"

Dragon flames fell from the sky again, but this time, the target was the red dragon standing tall on the ground.

A second dragon had appeared, and Vavrinek was shocked to find that the newcomer was not here to destroy the Ferenc clan but to battle Keltullis.

This new dragon had a gray-green body, indicating that it was a green dragon. Among all dragon species, the green dragon was the smallest and weakest. Most dragon slayers had made their names by hunting green dragons. However, the size of this green dragon far surpassed that of its kin, measuring nearly ten meters in length—far larger than the average of its race.

Its scales had a faint golden hue, like tree leaves illuminated by sunlight. It looked like a hybrid green dragon, but the origin of the other half of its bloodline was unknown.

Unfortunately, while this green dragon was strong by the standards of its own kind, it was facing a red dragon. With a body only half the size of Keltullis, their fight looked like an adult bullying a child.

Although Keltullis was severely injured and reacted more slowly, the dragon fire bathing it caused little harm, as a red dragon was naturally resistant to flames. In fact, the heat only seemed to sharpen its mind.

Lifting its head and opening its mouth, Keltullis immediately unleashed a torrent of flames, directly toward the green dragon.

As the dragon flames rushed toward it, the green dragon tilted its neck slightly. However, in the next second, a sharp dragon claw burst through the flames and struck the green dragon, swatting it down from the sky.

The smaller green dragon had no power to resist and tumbled down, crashing into the rock wall. The red dragon, seemingly exhausting its remaining strength in that move, plummeted from the air, blood gushing from its wounds.

Even so, Keltullis remained conscious enough to control its descent, ensuring that it landed directly on top of the green dragon with a thunderous impact.

With a loud crash, cracks spread across the rock wall. Vavrinek, watching the battle in stunned disbelief, nearly fell to the ground at the sight of this reckless tactic, which injured both combatants almost equally.

"Quick, grab your weapons and prepare the 'dragon-hunting crossbows'!"
