Chapter Three
She pushed open the door, but he wasn't there.
Sofia Hamilton stepped inside. "Ryan?"
"Ryan?"
She went to the balcony, the bathroom, the Changing Room—there was no sign of him anywhere.
The room was empty, with no one to respond.
Could he have left?
At the thought of this, Sofia's heart sank abruptly, her nerves taut and tense.
Was he planning to quietly leave, once again pushing her away, abandoning her?
Nathan Morgan had said before that Ryan Gregory was ruthless when he made her leave—it was because he didn't want her to feel pain afterward, didn't want her to see him like this...
Thinking he might have slipped away, her heart became chaotic.
Like a stone hurled into her heart, it shattered her peace completely.
Sofia hurriedly rushed downstairs, calling out, "Ryan?"
"Ryan Gregory?"
She frantically ran to the study, the gym, the swimming room...
Every place she could think of, she checked them all.
But there was no sign of him anywhere.
