After soothing Mason Carter for a while, Amelia Clarke hung up and immediately dialed Everett Jones's number.
Mason Carter's talk of 'selling off' wasn't believed by Amelia Clarke; she guessed that Mason Carter must have heard something from Everett Jones and misunderstood.
The call was answered quickly.
"Mrs. Moreland, what can I do for you?" Everett Jones initiated.
Amelia Clarke didn't come straight to the point, but instead asked, "Mr. Jones, do you have something to tell me about Mason?"
There was a pause on the other end, followed by Everett Jones's hesitant voice, "Do you know about Screenwriter Carter wanting Mason to act in a movie?"
"Acting? Screenwriter Carter?" Amelia Clarke was puzzled.
Everett Jones explained, "I don't know if Mrs. Moreland is aware of the famous screenwriter Connor Carter; he has written several classic TV dramas, such as 'The Beacons'…"
