Flesh and blood flew through the air, splattering onto the students. They stood frozen, staring blankly as the motorcycle roared past.
"What is that sound?"
Their feet felt the violent tremors from the ground, and their hearts tightened instantly. The next moment, they saw groups of cavalry smash through the walls, surging into the campus like a torrent of steel, grinding everything in their path into dust.
"Run, cough cough!" One boy, shocked to the point his eyes felt like they might burst, instinctively screamed, his voice tearing apart his vocal cords as he coughed out strands of blood.
He turned to flee but had barely taken a step when pain exploded in his back and thigh, sharp blades driving into his flesh, the massive force hurling his body forward.
Thud—the boy hit the ground hard, the taste of blood filling his mouth. He tried to crawl up, but his fingers wouldn't obey him. Moments later, another student collapsed beside him.
