Hotel Transylvania...
After the excitement of Darcy's pregnancy and Dracula's dramatic reaction to Leo's world-hopping revelation,
Leo turned back toward the others who had arrived with him.
With a light clap of his hands, he called for attention.
Clap~
"Before we proceed further, I'd like you all to meet some of my closest allies and friends—"
He gestured grandly toward the group of yokai standing near the entrance—
Nurarihyon at the front with his pipe in hand, Rikuo standing proudly beside him, and behind them, the familiar faces of Kurotabo, Kurosou Tengu, Kappa, Kubinashi, Ao, and the others.
"This is Nurarihyon,"
Leo said with a proud smile.
"Leader of the Nura Clan. And these are his family and retainers—powerful yokai who've kept the balance of their world for generations."
Nurarihyon gave a polite nod and raised his pipe in greeting.
Nod~
"Pleasure to meet you all. We've heard much about Lord Morningstar's extended family, and it's… quite the sight."
Dracula, with stars in his eyes, stepped forward and took Nurarihyon's hand.
"You're the one he calls 'Old Man' a moment before, right? I've got to admit, you look like a classy sushi chef, but I can sense you're no joke."
Nurarihyon chuckled.
Chuckle~
"Coming from the Prince of Darkness himself, I take that as a compliment."
Even though he was new to this world, Leo had previously explained to him about this world.
Meanwhile, Murray the Mummy looked toward Kappa and whispered,
"That one looks like he could teach me how to swim."
Wayne nodded.
Nod~
"Don't even try. Trust me."
Leo continued,
"In many ways, the yokai and you monsters aren't that different. You both live in the shadows of human society, you both have your own codes… and you both throw absolute chaos when gathered in a room together."
Jonny peeked around from behind Dracula with a big grin.
"Do they dance too? Like zombies?"
Kubinashi smirked.
Smirk~
"Only when drunk."
Darcy leaned toward Martha.
"They're like a cross between monsters and martial artists."
Martha nodded.
Nod~
"And yet somehow more well-behaved than Wayne's kids."
One of Wayne's pups sneezed lightning in protest.
Achoo~
WOOF!
Dracula clapped his hands with excitement.
"We should throw a welcoming banquet! With blood pudding and… whatever yokai eat!"
Rikuo whispered to Leo,
"Is he always like this?"
Leo sighed.
Sigh~
"Unfortunately… yes."
Martha leaned in to Leo and asked,
"So what brings the clan here, exactly?"
Leo smiled and replied,
"A surprise for Wakana and Mavis. They'll be seeing their families soon."
AWW! AWW!
AWW!
The monsters all let out a collective "Aww!" as they realised what was about to happen.
Just then, a crash was heard from the far corridor, followed by a scream—
"WHO MOVED MY TOMBSTONE PILLOW?!"
Leo pinched the bridge of his nose.
"____"
Bellatrix raised an eyebrow.
"That wouldn't happen to be… Vlad, would it?"
Drac sighed deeply.
"____"
Sigh~
"Unfortunately… yes. And he's likely still in the church, having his weekly 'unholy rant.'"
Nurarihyon blinked.
"Yokai don't do 'church.' This I must see."
With a deep, defeated sigh, Dracula turned toward the group and waved them on.
"Come on,"
He muttered.
"Let's get this over with…"
The path led them through winding staircases and cold stone corridors until they arrived at the basement of Hotel Transylvania.
Despite being underground, the space was massive—almost cathedral-like.
The only sources of light were flickering candles held by numerous monsters in pews and iron sconces mounted along the dark stone walls.
The air was thick with incense smoke and the unmistakable smell of melted wax.
But none of that was what drew the group's attention.
Front and centre—
Looming before them, bathed in an eerie silver-blue glow—
It was a colossal crucifix, towering high above the altar.
And on it… nailed at the wrists and ankles, eyes gently closed and expression strangely serene…
Was a statue of Leo Morningstar.
There was a collective gasp.
"____"
"____"
"____"
The yokai froze.
Bellatrix choked on air.
Eileen's mouth dropped open.
Rikuo blinked multiple times, unsure if he was hallucinating.
Nurarihyon just muttered,
"What… the hell…?"
Leo, standing in the back of the group, didn't say a word.
His face was dark.
Very dark.
"____"
"…I swear if I don't kill him today,"
He muttered under his breath.
The silence was broken by a soft rhythm—footsteps.
Thud. Thud.
Thud. Thud.
A sudden whoosh of fog rolled over the ground like divine mist, and out of it emerged a tall figure dressed in immaculate black priest robes, silver trimmings gleaming dimly in the candlelight.
A large silver anti-cross hung from his neck, clinking softly with each solemn step.
Vald, Dracula's older brother and Hotel Transylvania's self-proclaimed "spiritual advisor," walked toward the front of the church with closed eyes and a divine calm.
The monsters in the pews lowered their heads reverently.
Many whispered prayers.
Others softly wept.
Vald raised his hand.
"My beloved monstrous children,"
He intoned gravely,
"Today we gather to honour the sacrifice and eternal suffering of our beloved Lord Morningstar, who carries the burden of all monsterkind's sins."
Leo twitched.
Twich~
"____"
Bellatrix whispered,
"He… what?"
Vald turned slowly toward the altar and gazed lovingly at the statue.
"He gave his blood… his wrath… his cookies… to us. So that we may live freely in the shadow of humanity."
Eileen whispered to Dracula,
"Did he just say… cookies?"
Drac winced.
"He always says cookies. I've stopped trying."
Vald continued,
"Even now, his eyes watch over us. He endures this symbolic crucifixion for our redemption. For our monstrous souls to be washed clean."
The monsters all let out a respectful
"Amen."
Leo slowly turned toward Dracula.
His voice was deathly quiet.
"…When. Did... Did it become this serious?"
Drac coughed awkwardly.
Cough~
"Ehhh… during your long trip. He said it was to 'immortalise the truth of our faith.'"
Vald lifted both hands dramatically.
"Now let us begin today's sermon: 'Chapter Four—The Day Lord Morningstar Defeated the Celestial Marshmallow King.'"
Sasami tugged on Leo's sleeve.
"Wait… you fought a marshmallow king?"
Leo's eye twitched.
Twich~
"No. That was a hide-and-seek with Wayne."
"Oh…"
She nodded seriously.
"So it was real."
The entire group stood in awkward silence, eyes drifting between Vald's fervent expression and the oversized Leo statue nailed to an anti-cross.
Nurarihyon finally said,
"I've seen some madness in my time… but this takes the whole damn shrine."
Vald, now caught in a fever pitch of divine inspiration, raised both hands to the crowd.
"And now, my brothers, sisters… and slimy tentacle beings—we arrive at the most sacred moment of our worship."
Leo's expression darkened further.
"____"
"The Offering Ceremony."
The yokai leaned in, visibly confused.
Rikuo whispered to Tsuchigumo,
"What kind of offering do monsters give?"
Dracula buried his face in his cape, already dreading what was about to come.
Vald reached into his voluminous black robe… and pulled out…
A pair of pink lace panties.
Time froze.
Everyone's eyes bulged.
"____"
"____"
"____"
Eileen let out a choking noise.
Bellatrix blinked rapidly, mouthing,
"What the hell is going on here?"
With holy reverence, Vald lifted the panties high.
"This… was once worn by a brave female warrior… who claimed to have seen our Lord Morningstar shirtless in battle. She perished from a nosebleed. Her final wish… was for these to be offered to him."
Leo looked like he was physically trying not to explode.
Vald, eyes full of piety, muttered a solemn prayer.
"May your undergarments warm the soul of our eternal protector…"
Then, with a swift flick of the wrist, he threw the panties into the offering fire, where they sizzled and let off an unholy pink smoke.
A second later…
The entire congregation rose as one.
From robes, hats, and even body folds—
They all pulled out underwear offerings.
Some were frilly.
Some were oddly mechanical.
One was glowing.
And with a great collective chant of "All hail Lord Morningstar!",
They hurled them into the flames.
The fire roared with unnatural intensity.
Pink and gold sparks shot into the air, forming a vaguely embarrassing silhouette of Leo's face in smoke.
Leo took one step forward.
"VALD."
The voice was cold. Dangerous.
The kind of voice that made grown demons sweat.
Vald turned, smiling peacefully. "Ah, my Lord! You grace us with your holy presence! Please, would you bless today's offerings?"
Leo stepped past the stunned yokai and his dumbfounded companions, crossed the altar, and stood face to face with Vald.
"I've let it pass before believing it's just your prank. But now..."
He growled.
"The anti-cross. The sermons. Even that insane statue."
Vald nodded solemnly.
"Yes. Thank you, my Lord. I feel blessed by your tolerance."
"But panties, Vald?"
Leo hissed.
"Panties?!"
Vald bowed deeply.
"Sacred relics of admiration and loyalty."
Dracula, who'd had enough, raised a hand.
"Okay, I tried to warn you."
Rikuo whispered to Nurarihyon,
"Is this what they call a religious meltdown?"
Sasami turned to Tsurara.
"Should we take notes for starting our own church?"
"No,"
Tsurara replied, still wide-eyed.
"Just… no."
Meanwhile, Bellatrix casually leaned over to Eileen.
"So… should we start offering Leo our underthings too, or…?"
Leo's growl echoed through the chamber.
Growl~
"Don't. Even. Think about it."
Leo stood silently in the priest's cabin, arms crossed, eyes narrowed and locked onto Vald like a predator sizing up a foolish deer.
"____"
Vald, wiping sweat from his forehead, gave a sheepish chuckle.
Chuckle~
"W-Well… I know it looks weird, but I can explain—"
Leo said nothing.
"____"
Vald's smile cracked as he realised the silence was Leo giving him rope to hang himself with.
Finally, with a resigned sigh, Vald dropped the act and grew serious.
Sigh~
"After the monster war… the one you ended, my Lord, with that divine storm of death and judgment—"
He paused as Leo arched a brow.
"—Right, right, skip the praise."
He walked toward a dusty bookshelf and pulled out a journal bound in monster hide.
"You see, humans… they have religions. Gods. Shrines. Priests. Confessionals. They take all their rage, guilt, pain, despair, and dump it in temples. They walk out lighter."
Vald tapped his chest.
"Monsters? We don't have that. Our negative energy festers. It turns into madness. Hatred. Regression into savagery."
He turned to Leo with a solemn gaze.
"But… when we started speaking your name… praying to you… calling you the 'Progenitor'… all that negativity? It found direction. Purpose. It turned into faith. Balance. Hope."
Leo remained stone-faced, but his eyes flickered.
Vald added quickly,
"It wasn't meant to mock you! I just… I used what was already inside their hearts. The awe. The reverence. The fear. And gave it a name. You."
Just then, the System's calm voice echoed in Leo's mind:
[DING...]
[Observation confirms Vald's claims. Monsters channelling negative energy into structured faith provide two key benefits:
– Suppresses monstrous regression in weaker species.
– Slowly strengthens the Host's faith-based resonance.]
Leo blinked.
"____"
[DING...]
[Clarification: Symbolic offerings, regardless of form, are recognised as acts of devotion.…Even if they're undergarments.]
Leo's eye twitched.
Vald, watching him, cautiously ventured,
"I know it's insane. But it's working. Monsters are healing. Chaos has gone down. Even Wayne smiles more—okay, bad example."
Leo finally sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose
Sigh~
. "…You could've just made a temple. A normal one."
Vald scratched the back of his head.
"I tried. But, uh, then the skeletons made a shrine out of your old bath towel and… things escalated."
There was a long pause.
Then Leo muttered,
"I should've just stayed sick at home."
Vald laughed nervously.
"But my Lord, you're divine now! That means you can tax us emotionally, spiritually, and metaphorically!"
Leo gave him a flat look.
"…I'm going to find Dracula and hit something. Hard."
After a few hours...
As the golden portal shimmered into existence like a swirling gate of magic and light,
Leo stood at the centre with his coat fluttering behind him, a calm and collected look on his face.
Behind him, the monstrous crowd of companions—
Dracula, Vald, Wayne, Murray, Griffin, Frank, and their families—
Stood alongside Nurarihyon, Rikuo, Tsurara, Karasu's kids, and other yokai.
Each of them looked up at the portal in awe, some wide-eyed, others with excited grins, and a few (like Wayne) nervously clutching their dozens of children.
Vald adjusted his silver anti-cross chain, murmuring,
"A doorway between worlds… and it responds to your will. Truly divine."
Already, many stories were brewing in his mind so he could preach at the next church gathering.
Dracula grinned at Leo.
Grin~
"Leo keeps getting cooler. Don't let this one press any buttons, though,"
He added, pointing to Jonathan—
Who already had his hand raised toward a glowing red button besides a portrait on the wall with bold words stating "please press me".
Leo gave him a look.
"____"
Jonathan froze.
"W-What? I was just admiring the craftsmanship!"
Tsurara tugged Rikuo's sleeve, her voice hushed.
"Are all other worlds like this…?"
Rikuo replied with a shrug,
"Who knows?"
Finally, Leo turned around, scanning the vast and chaotic crowd that had somehow become his entourage, and simply nodded.
Nod~
"Let's move."
With that, he stepped into the golden portal.
One by one, the others followed—
Dracula with a proud expression, Vald walking as if leading a royal procession,
Nurarihyon was chuckling as he floated along, and the rest were whispering and marvelling at the strange sensation of dimensional travel.
The portal's glow grew brighter and brighter, casting golden light on everyone's faces until it finally pulled them all through.
Wizarding World...
Diagon Alley...
Cauldron and Charm Apothecary...
specifically, the top floor of Cauldron and Charm Apothecary,
The air shimmered as the portal rippled open within the new hotel lodge.
The golden light poured in as Leo stepped through first, followed by the sea of monsters and yokai.
Mr. Mime, still behind the front desk, blinked as the guests poured in.
It tilted its head, waved cheerfully, and then calmly turned a sign from "Closed" to "Open for Special Guests".
Meanwhile, witches and wizards in Diagon Alley looked toward the building as faint magical tremors passed through the area.
