Chapter 360 - Chapter 360: Cooperation, Fireballs, and Stepdad Ambitions

Funan sized up Ōtsutsuki Kaguya from head to toe.

Hmm!

How should he put it?

The Rabbit Goddess—she really wasn't bad!

In the original story, she had more of a statue-like presence.

Her expression was overly cold.

As if she lacked all emotion.

While there was nothing to fault about her appearance, it felt… a bit too deliberate.

Now, seeing her in the flesh, even with Funan's critical eye, he had to admit—she looked great.

Much more supple and full than in the original story.

So, Funan hesitated a little.

That joke about having three kids—maybe it wasn't so far-fetched after all.

Maybe… he could force himself to consider it?

A cold glint flickered in Kaguya's eyes.

Instinctively, she sensed that this brat in front of her was thinking something rude.

Immediately, two bones shot out from her palms.

"Hey, hey, hey! You're a woman—can you not always be thinking about fighting?" Funan looked at her with an exasperated expression, waving a hand. "Can't we just talk? Find a nice spot, have some tea, appreciate the beauty of today's Shinobi World. Isn't it lovely?"

"Of course, if you're up for it, we could also do something that's good for both body and mind."

Her answer? Two sharp bones flying straight at him.

"…Fine. I think I get it now."

Funan's pupils turned into Rinnegan as he nimbly dodged the bones.

"You…"

Kaguya was taken aback.

The Rinnegan?

How could it be the Rinnegan?

Kaguya activated her Byakugan as she looked straight through Funan.

And what she saw only deepened her confusion.

Even though she'd been sealed, it didn't mean she was clueless.

She knew—after she was sealed away, Ninshū began to evolve.

She knew that Hagoromo had two sons.

She knew that Hamura stayed on the moon, supposedly to accompany her—and in the process, founded a massive clan.

She also knew that her third child had spent all these years trying to rescue her, though without much success.

All three of her kids… were a headache.

She'd assumed this brat in front of her was from the Ōtsutsuki line—or at least one of her descendants.

But!

Under the scrutiny of the Byakugan, he clearly wasn't Ōtsutsuki.

Saying he was her descendant was also a stretch—at best, he was one of Indra's distant heirs.

So many generations had passed…

And yet, how did someone like him awaken the Rinnegan?

[Whoosh!]

While Kaguya was still stunned, Funan suddenly erupted with energy and used Body Flicker to appear right in front of her.

[Bang!]

With a punch, Kaguya was sent flying.

[Whoosh!]

Funan used Body Flicker again, quickly chasing after her.

"Fire Release...!"

[BOOM!!!]

A massive blaze engulfed Kaguya.

At first, she hadn't taken it seriously—but then she was shocked to find that the heat was truly intense.

She was forced to quickly fly away.

"Come on—seriously? Every single one of them can fly?"

Funan frowned.

"Rabbit Goddess," Funan called out. "How about now? Can we talk?"

Kaguya looked at him coldly, her voice like ice. "What do you want to talk about?"

Now that he had the Rinnegan, Funan barely qualified to speak with her.

"Cooperation!"

Funan said bluntly, "The Sage of Six Paths—oh, your unfilial eldest son, Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo."

A flicker of cold light passed through Kaguya's eyes.

She had given birth to him, raised him into adulthood—and in the end, he sealed her away!

She was heartbroken!

And she was filled with hatred!

Her own son had rebelled against her.

"Your son rebelled against you!"

Funan spoke with a cheerful smile. "And what was his reason? To end your tyrannical rule?"

"Tsk, tsk. What do you think? Isn't that a catchy slogan?"

Kaguya stared at Funan in fury.

This bastard was provoking her.

Black Zetsu murmured, "Mother, calm down. Don't fall for it. Uchiha Funan is deliberately trying to anger you."

His words had some effect.

Kaguya gradually calmed down.

When facing the Rinnegan, one could never be too cautious.

"Honestly," Funan went on, speaking as if to himself, "I just can't understand your son's choice. Even if your rule was brutal, you were still the mother who raised him. And yet, he turned against you—for a bunch of people who had nothing to do with him. Ah, how noble."

"Hagoromo really was a great man, wasn't he?"

The rage Kaguya had just quelled flared up again.

Funan smiled. "But I seriously doubt your son's motives."

"Was it truly out of greatness… or was there another agenda?"

Kaguya's cold voice rang out: "Where is Hagoromo?"

"Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo is in the Pure Land. He has left his physical body behind and exists in spiritual form. With his abilities, finding a suitable vessel wouldn't be difficult. Ōtsutsuki Hamura is on the moon."

Funan looked at Kaguya with an unusual gaze.

Kaguya's resurrection reminded him of Orochimaru.

Both were the type who, as long as conditions allowed, could come back no matter where they were.

In that case—what about the Sage of Six Paths, someone even stronger than either of them?!

Kaguya stared coldly at Funan and said, "I will once again rule the Shinobi World. This world has always belonged to me. I am the origin of all chakra."

That was a flat-out rejection of cooperation.

"Ōtsutsuki Kaguya," Funan said with a pleasant smile, "I'm afraid I must disagree. I have a better idea."

Kaguya fixed her cold gaze on Funan but said nothing.

Funan continued talking to himself. "Are you familiar with the White Zetsu?"

Kaguya frowned slightly.

She needed the Shinobi World precisely to create countless White Zetsu in order to fight against the Ōtsutsuki.

And now, she understood what Funan was implying.

Mass-producing White Zetsu didn't necessarily mean turning all the shinobi of the world into them.

They could obtain a large number of White Zetsu through other methods.

"Besides, I can help you too. I've got plenty of excellent shinobi under my command," Funan added. "Don't you think this method is more effective than yours?"

Kaguya fell into deep thought.

"Mother!" Black Zetsu shouted anxiously. "You can't trust Uchiha Funan! This brat—he's full of schemes and deceptions! He definitely means you harm!"

Funan spread his hands and said, "If you say I'm scheming, fine—I'll take that. I just don't want Hagoromo to reap the benefits. Kaguya, tell me: if we were to fight, are you really so sure you'd win?"

Funan's expression turned cold.

An overwhelming pressure erupted from him.

Now, Funan's Susanoo emerged—not towering in size, but clinging to his body in the form of armor. Infused with the Six Paths Yang Power, the crimson armor transformed into a brilliant scarlet-gold hue.

"As for any ill intent…"

Funan let out a sly chuckle.

Black Zetsu, you little punk, just wait.

Once I become your stepfather, we'll have a nice long talk.

And your mother too…

I'll definitely bend her into all kinds of shapes—as punishment!

Kaguya didn't respond much to Funan's words. She simply tossed out, "We'll talk later."

[Buzz—!]

She exited the Kamui dimension.

Funan remained where he stood, deep in thought.

It still didn't seem likely that the two of them would ever truly work together.

So, without hesitation, he pulled out an eyeball—

Obito's second eye.

After infusing it with chakra, the Sharingan activated and transported him out of the dimension.

Outside.

The Rabbit Goddess stood gazing at the battlefield, her eyes somewhat dazed.

Because of the great war, the land had been devastated.

And yet, after being sealed away for thousands of years—

Finally!

She had returned to see the outside world.

In that moment, countless emotions surged through her heart.

"How does it feel?" Funan asked with a smile. "Quite different from the space you were sealed in, right? But it's still too early to get sentimental. Just so you know, someone's already waiting to seal you up again."

A murderous glint flashed between Kaguya's brows.

"Hagoromo would never stay silent."

Kaguya spoke calmly. "Now that he knows I've resurrected, he's bound to act."

"Of course," Funan agreed. "After all these years in the Pure Land, Hagoromo has probably been gathering souls—to turn them into his warriors."

He looked directly at Kaguya. "You still have many enemies. Did you ever tell Hagoromo about the threat of the Ōtsutsuki?"

"No," Kaguya shook her head. "But that child is very perceptive. He must've realized something on his own."

"Is that so?"

Then it was almost certain—Hagoromo was indeed collecting souls.

Otherwise, why would that old man be floating around the Pure Land for a thousand years? Was he brain-dead?

Kaguya turned to look at Funan. "And where are your warriors?"

"Aren't they right here?"

Funan gestured toward the arriving Senju brothers and several other Kage-level shinobi.

Kaguya's brows furrowed slightly. "Just these?"

Her gaze swept across them and paused briefly on Senju Hashirama. A flicker of complexity flashed in her eyes.

Asura?

Similar, but not quite.

He was likely a direct descendant.

Still, his strength wasn't bad—he was qualified to be a warrior.

"There are definitely more," Funan said. "But before I bring them out, I need to know what you actually plan to do. Are we cooperating or not? You still haven't given me a clear answer."

Kaguya sneered, just about to respond—when her eyes suddenly froze.

Her gaze locked onto Naruto and Sasuke in the distance.

The two had already been restrained.

However!

Their chakra wasn't something Tobirama and the others could hold down for long.

"Them… them—!"

Kaguya's breathing quickened, her expression turning ferocious as she abruptly shot forward.

"Stop right there!"

Funan instantly appeared in front of Kaguya, blocking her path. "You can't touch those two."

"Out of my way!"

At that moment, Kaguya's demeanor shifted from fury to utter arrogance. "They're the reincarnations of Asura and Indra. They still carry Hagoromo's power. They must be eliminated."

Ōtsutsuki Hagoromo's power—

It was more than enough to seal her.

Far too dangerous!
