After the Second Trial, Merlin the Mad had seemingly vanished from the public eye.
Or rather, this persona had now stepped back for the moment. Constantine the Tyrant had returned. He remained inside his dorm room in Saratoga, sleeping for as long as he possibly could.
The raven-haired youth made no effort to join the other contestants in their victory celebrations, nor did he attend any social gatherings held in the days leading to the Final Trial.
He just wanted to rest. Besides, he had a strange feeling that his party members wouldn't want to meet him after they'd witnessed the bloody massacre he had caused. He didn't mind either way.
On the second day after returning from the secret plane, Adam found himself comfortably lying on the bed, wrapped in a warm blanket. His face seemed calm and peaceful, but the slight twitching of his eyelids betrayed the unrest in his mind.
Adam was still trying to comprehend how he had done what he had done inside the secret plane.
