Due to Schiller gathering everyone on the bridge and then rounding them all up, the Assassin's Union and the Court of Owls' forces on the East Coast were basically wiped out. Talya and Dick might not be dead, but in the short term, they won't be able to make much of a splash.
The Primary Universe Batman stayed behind to reorganize the order in Gotham of this universe. The Arkham Universe's Batman, on the other hand, took the mind of Silent Batman to find a new body.
The situation in this universe's Gotham isn't that bad; it's obviously salvageable, so of course, we can't let the two Laughing bats duel here. Arkham Batman also took the two Laughing bats away and sent them to the Broken Bat Universe.
The Gotham of that universe is basically beyond saving, with barely any people left, perfect for storing dog shit. The Broken Bat, currently busy exploring Battleworld with the body of Death Angel, can't even look after his own home. That place is the best spot for the two Laughing bats.
Seeing what the two Laughing bats will do, Batman and the Jokers are quite interested. But for now, it seems they're just two disabled people pulling each other's hair.
The one using Elliot's body hasn't really undergone any training, with stamina only slightly better than an average person. The one using Silent Batman's body is even worse; the damage to the lumbar spine is severe, and the self-healing power of the Laughing bat may not be able to connect it, possibly having to rely on a wheelchair for a very long time to come.
Yet both of them are indeed still alive, making it temporarily impossible to revive another one. Given their current level, leaving the surface is difficult, let alone roaming the multiverse. By the time they gradually recover and develop, the multiverse might be of another kind altogether.
What intrigues Schiller is, if both of them have prediction abilities, and both can predict each other's actions, "I predicted your prediction of my prediction," wouldn't it be possible to keep predicting forever? Doesn't that mean they're stuck?
Indeed, only another prediction monster can deal with one. The best outcome for the two of them is to endlessly intersect, using all their skills on each other's heads, and reduce being a nuisance to others.
Coming to the Broken Bat Universe for a mission was itself an unexpected part of the plan. Schiller was busy recruiting for the newly built Magic Academy and was supposed to talk to the Primary Universe Batman first, but he had to stay in the Silent Batman's universe to reorganize order, and couldn't break away temporarily. Schiller had to consider other universes.
Greed didn't really understand this area; he also found many things in these universes ludicrous. And through the affairs of these two universes, he found that the darker and more dangerous a universe is, the more perverse Batman becomes. Such dangerous elements absolutely must not be brought into his own universe.
So it's better to look for a Batman from a universe that's safe, happy, and sane. If he could be a bit sunnier and more cheerful, it would be even better. Otherwise, Schiller feared the sunshine from Massachusetts might melt them.
Though there are many dark Batmen, there are also quite a few sunny ones. Among them, the one who gets along best with Greed is Lego Batman.
Lego Batman holds a considerable esteemed position among Batmen, not just because he's talkative, but also because his parents are permanently stationed in Battleworld, making them a happy family of three. Although other Batmen don't say it, they are all quite envious.
The birthplace of the Batmen is a cave, which has been constructed quite nicely now. Batmen frequently travel between different versions, bringing back many materials, and also acquiring a lot of high-tech equipment, engaging in various technical exchanges.
Although it's their stopover point between versions, it's also considered a large research institute. Whenever research in this universe encounters a problem, many Batmen choose to come here, seeking help from their counterparts. After all, who better understands a Batman's mind than himself?
Batmen are relatively distant, and the beehive-like terrain of the cave also well ensures their private space. Besides the shared high-tech laboratory, most Batmen have been allocated a cave space to serve as their Batcave.
The terrain inside the cave is so intricate that only Batman can usually remember which person is in which cave. If an outsider comes, they won't walk far before getting lost.
However, the residence of Lego Batman is quite conspicuous because in the vast cave space, he only occupies that little bit in the center. But concerning his body size, it's already an unbeatable ultimate luxurious castle.
Wearing red-striped velvet pajamas, Lego Batman is lying on a rocking chair making a phone call. Though small in stature, his voice is quite loud:
"Oh, yes. I've always opposed him using Puffskein to arrange flowers; that thing makes my nose very uncomfortable. But you know, I can't oppose my dear mother... Dick! Are you tinkering with that damn motorcycle engine again?!"
Lego Batman struggles to do a sit-up, yelling towards the door. Just as he was about to say more, he saw a huge boot walking past the entrance.
"Hey, you bastard! I said don't walk past here!" Lego Batman leaned his head out the window and yelled.
"Uh, sorry." This was a seemingly young Batman, who said, "When I walked over from the entrance, I thought no one was here."
He squatted down, looking curiously inside the window. Lego Batman punched him in the nose, raised his fists, bounced a couple of times, and then said, "Stay away! Kid!"
Due to his small size, it didn't cause much harm. The young Batman rubbed his nose and said, "Alright. I'm sorry. I'll leave now."
"Oh, isn't this our wise and mighty lord?" Dick bounced in and said, "You've defended our territory again! Batman! I simply admire you so much!"
Lego Batman coughed twice, reclined back into the deck chair, and picked up a book from the side to read. Suddenly, he heard the interface of the Battleworld ring twice, indicating new messages. He quickly opened it and found a message from a name that was both strange and familiar:
"Mr. Batman: I am Schiller Rodriguez. I have established an Ilvermorny Magic Academy in my universe and now recruit from multiple multiverses. I hope you can come for detailed discussions. Universe number..."
Lego Batman quickly skimmed it and closed the interface, then said, "How come there are still people sending junk messages in the Battleworld these days... Wait. What academy?!"
He jumped up from the deck chair, reopened the interface, read it carefully, and little stars began to twinkle in his eyes.
"Magic Academy?! Learn magic?!"
Lego Batman envisioned a beautiful scene: he donned a magnificent mage robe, put on a tall wizard hat, and with a casual wave of his magic wand, all those annoying passing Batmen fell flat on their faces.
Lego Batman burst into laughter, but hesitated when replying. After thinking for a bit, he replied with: "Read. How do I enroll?"
The message was quickly replied to: "Please come to the following universe for detailed discussions." Followed by a universe number.
Lego Batman slowly furrowed his brows as if considering whether this was a trap. Dick, however, curiously leaned over and asked, "What's going on, revered Lord?"
"Uh, I don't want to be so immodest." Lego Batman shook his cloak and said with an inscrutable look, "A super magic academy spanning two major worlds and countless multiverses sent me an invitation..."
"Magic Academy?!!!" Dick screamed. He immediately leaned over, pressing his head against Lego Batman's face, and looked at him sideways, saying, "You're saying you've been admitted to a magic academy and you'll become a super cool magician?!"
"Don't put it that way, Dick." Lego Batman slowly walked to the sofa to sit down. He picked up a wine glass and said, "It's not about being cool. It means taking on heavy responsibilities. As Batman... no, not all Batmen can do it. It's me. I must take on this responsibility. It is a very heavy, serious, and unavoidable..."
"If you're not going, I'm going!" Dick shouted at him.
"No, Dick. You still don't understand the essence of magic." Lego Batman stood up, spun on one foot, and propped one hand on his waist, leaning against the sofa back and said, "Magic requires talent. Without talent, it's impossible to become a magician no matter what. My receiving such an invitation indicates that I have unparalleled magic talent. As for you... don't be too upset. You can improve your motorcycle riding skills."
Dick squinted his eyes, stamped his foot in frustration. But Lego Batman hummed a tune and went upstairs, muttering, "Magicians have to wear mage robes. I need to see which color suits me better..."
Meanwhile, the Batman from the Wayne Family Adventure universe also received a message. But his message was longer and more detailed. The front part was similar to what was sent to Lego Batman, with some additional explanations afterward:
"... Due to the beautiful scenery and good public security of your universe, it is very suitable as a place for discussion. I will pay a visit three days later. Hope your esteemed presence will grace the occasion..."
"Magic school?" Batman squinted his eyes, thought and said, "Could magicians really be cultivated in batches? But I have heard that it is difficult for Batman to study magic. Is this really reliable?"
Superman brought a drink and placed it in front of Batman, asking, "What magic? You're researching magic again?"
Wonder Woman perked up her ears. She wheeled her office chair closer to the table, spun around in front of the table and said, "I think you don't need to worry so much about not having magic talent. Spending too much time on such ethereal things is pointless."
"Who said I don't have magic talent?!" Batman pursed his lips and squinted at the message again.
"Okay, okay. I just wanted to say that I've never heard of magicians being cultivated through schools. It mostly won't be effective. If this doesn't work out, you don't have to be too upset."
"It's a bit too early to comfort me now." Batman raised his voice and said, "Who knows, I might have magical talent in another world?!"
Wonder Woman waved her hand dismissively, drank a sip of soda, and said, "The greater the expectation, the greater the disappointment. Not to discourage you, but from the situation in another world, it may not be much better than here. Of course, if you want to go, we will definitely support you."
"But if you go to school in other universes, what about Gotham?" Superman asked a very realistic question, "I'm not saying you can't go to school, but, if you could really give up Gotham for something else, you wouldn't be here as Batman now."
"I'm not going to fulfill some magician dream." Batman thought for a moment and said, "Magic is a really wonderful power; if it can be held in my own hands, even better. You may not know, the situation in the multiverse is getting more and more complicated..."
