"Alright, all is well. If Jiaojiao is well, Grandpa is well too." Over the years, Mr. Shu has completely let go of his serious side; whenever he talks on the phone with Ruan Jiaojiao, he really says whatever is needed to placate her.
Ruan Jiaojiao was amused, and she chatted with Mr. Shu for a bit longer until Mr. Shu asked her to call Shu Jiao to the phone, and then Ruan Jiaojiao asked, "Grandpa, are you going to talk about Brother Xiu Xi?"
On the other end, Mr. Shu paused; he apparently didn't expect Ruan Jiaojiao to already know.
He didn't hide anything and went straight to the point, "Jiaojiao, Grandpa wants to prepare you first. Don't get too agitated when you hear this news, okay? Your health isn't good right now, you need to take good care of yourself."
Given the way Mr. Shu was talking, Ruan Jiaojiao knew this definitely wasn't going to be good news.
