"I don't want to leave school." Fujiwara Chika clasped her hands in front of her chest, looking pitiful. "If we could just keep having class, we wouldn't have to separate."
Amamiya Natsuki complained mercilessly, "You'd become the public enemy of the whole school."
They actually want to stay at school all day long? Not only would the students revolt, but the teachers would go on strike!
Fujiwara Chika sighed dramatically. "At least there are more people at school. What am I supposed to do alone at home at night?"
"You can wear an eye patch." Shinomiya Kaguya suggested calmly.
Fujiwara Chika raised her eyes and looked over. "Then you can still hear the sounds."
Amamiya Natsuki said in a low voice, "Wear earplugs."
"I see." Fujiwara snapped her fingers. "So it's about hiding under the quilt and pretending to be an ostrich. In those comics, the quilt is an invincible treasure. As long as you hide in it, no danger can touch you."
Shinomiya Kaguya gently parted her lips, as if she wanted to say something but stopped herself.
"Hey, what was it, Kaguya-chan?" Fujiwara asked curiously.
"Well..." Kaguya pressed her brows together, finally deciding to confess, "Last night, I went to bed and found a ghost hiding under my quilt."
On the very first day I saw the real world, I actually found a ghost hiding in my quilt? Girl, you're lucky enough to buy a lottery ticket!
"Eh?" Fujiwara's eyes went wide. "Did Kaguya-chan get scared and cry?"
"Not at all." Shinomiya Kaguya crossed her arms and quickly denied it.
"But didn't you used to be afraid of horror movies as a child?"
"When you've been away for three days, you should look at me with new eyes." Kaguya bit her pink lips. "I'm grown up now. Don't look at me like I'm a child anymore."
"Is that so?"
Fujiwara suddenly took two steps back, hiding behind Amamiya Natsuki while quietly tugging on his sleeve.
Amamiya Natsuki caught on and retreated with her.
Seeing the two back away, the ice sculpture girl's eyes widened in surprise. She felt her neck stiffen and couldn't help but glance back nervously.
"Kaguya-chan, calm down." Fujiwara said softly, "Don't turn around and look."
Kaguya's long, silky black hair trembled slightly. Her eyelashes fluttered as she tried hard to hold her breath, quickly walking toward Amamiya and Fujiwara.
"Hahaha." Chika, the source of all mischief, put her hands on her hips and raised her chin proudly. "There's really nothing behind you. Kaguya-chan is so scared!"
Kaguya pressed a hand over her chest and silently looked back.
Behind her was only an empty classroom. There truly was nothing there.
Fujiwara Chika had no idea what disaster was about to unfold.
"No wonder Kaguya-chan has dark circles under her eyes. Didn't you sleep all night?"
Kaguya took a deep breath. A black mist rose from her body, scarlet flashes lit her wine-red eyes, and a chilling smile appeared on her lips.
"Fujiwara-san, you're so cute."
So scary.
Amamiya Natsuki quietly backed away, putting distance between himself and Fujiwara Chika.
When Kaguya-san smiles, she's even scarier than when she's cold and expressionless.
"I'm sorry! I was wrong! Please forgive me!" Fujiwara crouched, covering her head defensively. The speed of her surrender was shocking.
"It'd be nice if I could stay at Amamiya-san's house."
Fujiwara looked at him pitifully, like a stray puppy hoping to be adopted.
"Wooo~" she whined, "I'm being disliked, meow."
Living together was just a joke. Both girls were well-bred young ladies; staying out all night wasn't an option.
"Ah, I got it!" Fujiwara's eyes suddenly lit up. "Kaguya-chan, Amamiya-san, how about we run for the student council together?"
"What?"
Amamiya raised an eyebrow and looked over.
"The student council election is coming." Fujiwara spread her arms wide. "If we win, we get a big activity room. After school, we can hang out there—drink tea, chat—without worrying about anything."
The student council is supposed to do practical work, not be a social club!
"I agree." Kaguya calmly held her schoolbag. "I was already planning to run."
Amamiya didn't commit immediately. "I'll think about it."
After the discussion, the three went their separate ways.
Under the watchful gaze of two vengeful spirits in security uniforms, Amamiya Natsuki left campus expressionless.
No conversation as he walked.
"I'm home."
When Amamiya pushed open the door and stepped into the porch, only the Akita dog ran over, wagging its tail.
His parents were busy with work and rarely home—sometimes he saw them only a few times a month.
The blonde twin-tailed sister who yelled, "Brother, go die."
The stepsister dressed as a woman.
The sister kneeling in the entrance wearing nothing but an apron, inviting her brother to bathe together...
None of those.
Natsuki Amamiya casually opened the fridge—only to find a rotten human head inside.
Expressionless, he grabbed a can of Coke and slammed the fridge shut.
After drinking, it was still early.
He pondered for a moment, then looked at the Akita sitting in front of him with a goofy smile.
He grabbed the leash and went out for a walk.
There are evil spirits day and night, but nighttime is scarier. From now on, I'll walk the dog during the day.
At a nearby park, he ran into Yotsuya Miko and her friend Yurikawa Hana at the entrance.
"Good afternoon, Amamiya-san," Yurikawa greeted clearly.
She waved, then noticed the Akita and her eyes lit up. "Ah, what a cute dog! Is this your family's dog?"
"It is."
"Can I pet it?"
Yurikawa looked hopeful.
"Okay." Amamiya nodded.
"Thank you, Amamiya-san."
She didn't squat, but instead bent slightly at the knees and stretched out her hand.
Suddenly, Natsuki felt an odd gravitational pull.
He looked over and noticed her uniform collar had slipped slightly, revealing her delicate collarbone and snow-white skin—soft and flawless like a baby's.
Objects with mass exert gravitational force on their surroundings. Universal gravitation applies not only to celestial bodies—it turns out it works on girls too!
The sun is so bright today...
Wait, no.
The sun is bright.
At a glance, Amamiya couldn't help but think of Newton's cradle in the physics lab.
"Stare—"
Yotsuya Miko, dark circles under her eyes, glanced at him silently.
Her pink lips moved slightly as she softly whispered:
"Dirty."
Why is it dirty?
Newton's cradle represents the beauty of physics. It's only natural to stare. Even Newton himself would be entranced!
After happily petting the dog a while longer, Yurikawa reluctantly stood.
Amamiya was about to head home when Yotsuya Miko suddenly invited him:
"Um... I bought some strawberry daifuku. Would you like to share some?"
