Chapter 82 - V2 Chapter 29

(As time goes on the amount of blood on my hands only increases...) I sighed outwardly as I cut the connection with the mutant wasp that I had been possessing.

I had been watching my creatures, I had been watching how they had killed and devoured all the soldiers that had been thrown at them, they were currently advancing forward towards their destination without a care. The American military continued to try to stall them but it was clear that it was pointless, the horde would not be stopped.

They were even using jets to continuously bomb the swarm before they could retaliate, something that was actually proving rather effective, somewhat anyway. They were killing some of the horde but just not fast enough, the fact that the mutants would rapidly regenerate from their injuries if they survived the bombing runs didn't help them much either.

Honestly, I had accepted that the amount of death I'd be responsible for would only grow over time, it wasn't something I could avoid even if I wanted to. In the end if I wanted to survive in this cruel Omniverse I couldn't be soft, as a certain douche bag once said "only the strong may choose not to kill" or something like that anyway. That of course didn't mean I had to be evil or anything like that, there was a difference between killing for necessity and killing for pleasure, that's why I had provoked the evacuation of the city beforehand, in the end there was no point in killing unarmed civilians after all.

"Clan chief." Enu hummed as she stood several feet behind me.

"Yeah?"

"The creatures known as Ralph and George will arrive shortly, the human military has already set up their defences. Additionally, however, there are still some civilians that are within the city, such as those at Energyne, although it won't be long before they are evacuated." She informed me.

Hearing that I hummed and nodded to myself. "Hah, good to know, thank you."

We had landed in Chicago about an hour ago, thankfully the ship was cloaked so no one actually saw it, of course with how distracted everyone was with the coming of the mutants they probably wouldn't have noticed it either way. Anyway, I was standing outside in a park under a tree, one of the Yautja's wrist devices strapped to my arm, a fact that explained why I was currently somewhat invisible.

"I have also received a report from Anow'ka." Enu continued.

"And what exactly did she say?"

"It appears the humans had attempted to launch highly explosive missiles at the horde of creatures you have unleashed." She explained as I glanced back at her. "Fortunately however, she was able to stop them by overriding their commands, a fact that has caused quite a bit of alarm within their command staff apparently."

(Makes sense, I'm surprised they haven't tried to nuke them yet to be honest.) I had already expected something like this, it was almost guaranteed to happen at some point after all. (Actually, if I remember correctly, in the movie they tried to drop a MOAB on Chicago.)

"Please inform her that I appreciate it and to block any such attempts moving forward." I mused, getting an immediate response.

"As you wish."

(All I need to do now is sit back and wait...) I thought as I let out a long sigh.

As I stood there my thoughts drifted to my fellow Alternatives. (It shouldn't be long before I'm back in the Nexus, I wonder what exactly everyone has been up to.)

I took some time to just take in the calm atmosphere before the real mayhem began while also looking through the steadily growing hive net. Well, I say "calm" but that wasn't really true, in fact I was somewhat distracted by the sound of military vehicles and personnel off in the distance. They were all being rather loud as they rushed around frantically, although considering what was heading their way I could understand their urgency.

Anyway, talking about the hive net, it was still nowhere near as vast as the internet, not even close to you, however it was still proving rather useful in several situations. For example, it turns out that some of those I had put in charge of taking care of all the kids were actually using the hive net to quicken the education of the children in question, something I actually approved of for the most part.

Moving on though, after a bit of time spent browsing the hive net I turned my attention elsewhere, more specifically I took some time to just look through the "eyes" of my xenomorphs back in the Sanctuary. It was something I did to pass the time every now and then, I just liked how it felt to relax for a bit and watch the xenos in the underground hive do their thing.

As for how that worked, simply put, I don't really actually know, even without opening a gate to my Sanctuary I was still very much connected to the beings in it. There were two issues with this though; firstly the connection felt fuzzy in an odd way, it was like watching a video with low resolution or taking a call with constant static in the background.

And the second issue was, well, the time dilation. I currently had my Sanctuary's time set up so that it matched up with this world's time, something that meant I was currently having no ill effects. Unfortunately however, I had indeed tested what it was like if I used hive possession while the time dilation was different, and it definitely wasn't something I would consider pleasant. To put it in simple terms, it was rather nauseating to say the least, it wasn't as bad when compared to the first time Decker teleported me but it didn't feel right at all, I could probably tough it out if I really had to but still, you get my point.

Anyway, so for a while that's all I really did, my real body just stood there as my mind was possessing the body of a xenomorph back in my Sanctuary. I could have made my way over to the building owned by Energyne but I chose not to, mostly because I'd probably be spotted on the way. Yeah, I was currently cloaked but it wasn't perfect invisibility, I could still be seen somewhat after all. And yes, with the military currently focused on the coming horde I could probably sneak through, however I didn't want to risk it just in case.

Time slowly passed and eventually something did end up happening after a bit. <> Ashley suddenly spoke up through the hive mind. <

(That would probably be the parrot that I have been hearing about, it will probably get here some time after my horde of mutants arrive considering it was probably the furthest away when compared to the other creatures.) I thought as I noticed the military in the distance started moving around more frantically.

<> I mused.

<> she said in response, sounding delighted by the thanks, probably more so than she should have been to be honest.

<> I muttered as I tapped the device on my wrist turning off the invisibility.

<> She hummed in response

Shaking my head in amusement at that I cut the link before then thinking to myself. (Alright, let's get this started shall we.)

Quickly I opened up a portal to my sanctuary while also connecting my mind with two other individuals. <

Soon after this a wave of several hundred xenomorphs poured from the rift, they were mostly drones and warriors with some runners and lashers mixed in. Additionally, coming out of the portal behind them were three very familiar xenomorphs as well as the rest of the Yautja, except for Anow'ka that is. She was currently working with some of my other followers to intercept and disrupt the military's communication network, they were also stopping the human satellites and cameras from spotting us.

"Time to get this over with."
