The scenery in the valley was even better; it was utterly flat, covered only with grass and shrubs, but there were no towering trees. The wide-open view allowed the entire valley to be taken in almost instantly.
Ling Mian had been to this valley before. Back then, it was still empty, and someone remarked that this place could eventually serve as a settlement. The surrounding peaks could block the ocean winds, making the temperature here more comfortable.
But now, in the center of the valley, there was a building that had mysteriously appeared at some point. The structure was made of wood, looked imposing but not ornate, constructed entirely of thick logs pieced together. Yet for some reason, when Ling Mian first saw the building, his heart started pounding uncontrollably, as if something within it was calling out to him.
