Wei Shikan is no longer a rookie; he's seen plenty of corpses. Yet, tasks such as moving and gutting bodies are things he has rarely done.
In fact, it's not just Wei Shikan who does little of this kind of work; the police in the Criminal Police Brigade seldom do either. The brigade itself belongs to the upper echelon of detectives, and most criminal cases are handled by lower-level officers, including but not limited to various local police stations, county police teams, district police teams, etc.
Even when a case reaches the brigade, Wei Shikan rarely goes to the crime scene. When he does, at the very least, he won't be tasked with gutting such decomposing bodies.
In the past, at such times, all Wei Shikan did was glance over things, then later grab a set of milk tea and sip slowly with his senior colleague, marking the end of forensic examinations.
