"Dinner time, come and eat."
The foreman was banging a beat-up pot, making a clanging noise.
The master worker, filled with disdain, said, "In my hometown, people who bang pots like this end up begging for food sooner or later."
"I'm giving you a midnight snack, and you're still complaining?" The foreman, annoyed, knocked the pot a few more times.
The master worker said indifferently, "I'm not eating now; I'll work for another half an hour. Just give me a bowl of dishes and five steamed buns; I'll eat after I'm done working."
"Working so hard?"
"You promised to settle the accounts every four hours. Are you trying to delay it?" The master worker looked up.
"Why would I? We settle based on the amount of work done; the more you do, the more I earn. Why would I try to cheat you?" The foreman hurriedly explained, and then added, "Whether you eat the midnight snack is up to you, but make sure the work is done well, or it's time wasted for you if it needs redoing."
