Coming back to Doiwa felt like the worst possible thing for Sakura Watanabe. It wasn't the rejection, no. It wasn't in the way that she had managed to come back. It was in the way that everything had happened.
She had laid bait, and for an entire year, she had played the long game, only to be reminded why pets needed to remain pets. She was angry. Oh, she was fuming so much that her mother wasn't sure what to say to her.
Izanami had thought that she had gotten her daughter back after the little incident with the rogue in the human lands. She had been grateful for what Kiyomi had done, and now she was determined to make sure Sakura wanted Kiyomi with everything.
