Chapter 4001: It Actually Recognizes the World-Burning Fire
Lin Moyu no longer tried to touch the fragments himself and instead had his undead servants handle them. Since undead servants lack a true spirit, the power within those fragments could not harm them. They retrieved the jade token from the pile of fragments and, after confirming it was safe, handed it to Lin Moyu.
The jade token was palm-sized, glowing with a greenish light and of excellent quality. The front was engraved with the characters "Spirit-Treasure," and the back depicted the Spirit-Treasure Hall. When Lin Moyu infused his soul power into the token, a stream of information immediately flooded his mind.
His eyes lit up the token recorded the number and uses of all the treasures in the Spirit-Treasure Hall: Spirit-Nurturing Pills, Boundary-Breaking Pills, Spirit-Nurturing Wood, Heaven-Covering Stones, Immortal Jades, and more. Each item was listed, along with their forms and effects.
Spirit-Nurturing Pills: Help in nurturing world wills.
Boundary-Breaking Pills: Help world wills complete their gestation early.
Spirit-Nurturing Wood: Can be absorbed by world wills to rapidly strengthen them.
Heaven-Covering Stone: Can conceal destiny, useful for special tasks.
Immortal Jade: Allows for feigned death and resurrection, usable alone or with the Heaven-Covering Stone.
Lin Moyu wasn't interested in the pills what he needed were the Heaven-Covering Stone and Immortal Jade. His gaze fell on the three unopened boxes. "Hopefully, there's still some left."
With prior experience, he didn't open them himself but had his undead servants do it. There were no formations or restrictions on the boxes, so the undead servants easily opened the first one. Inside were fist-sized stones Heaven-Covering Stones. Lin Moyu was pleased: "Heaven-Covering Stones." There were twenty in the box, far more than he expected. Without hesitation, he swept the stones and the box into his storage space. With these, his plan was half complete he could now escape the Origin Continent.
The second box held several half-meter-long wooden sticks, as thick as a child's arm Spirit-Nurturing Wood, excellent for growing world wills. Valuable, but not as important to Lin Moyu as the Heaven-Covering Stone, he put them away.
The third box, he hoped, contained Immortal Jade a strategic resource that could revive the dead, essentially an extra life. Such items were consumed rapidly in great wars, so Lin Moyu worried they might be gone. The undead servant opened the third box, and a strong purple light burst forth; inside, two thousand pieces of Immortal Jade were neatly stacked.
"Immortal Jade!" Lin Moyu was overjoyed he hadn't expected things to go so smoothly. With both Heaven-Covering Stones and Immortal Jade, he could let the Three Ancestors and others feign death and escape the Origin Continent's control. His plan was now mostly complete.
Just as he was about to put away the Immortal Jade, his soul suddenly warned him of danger. A beam of white light shot in from behind, blasting through the Spirit-Treasure Hall's door toward him. An undead servant reacted instantly, using the Great Earth Dao to become a shield. Lin Moyu calmly put away the Immortal Jade first even if this attack killed him, he could revive with the Immortal Jade, which was too valuable to lose.
The white light struck the undead servant, shattering it instantly, then thundered into Lin Moyu. The Great Thousand World rumbled as billions of undead servants shared the damage. Not all attacks can reach the true spirit even at the eternal level, most can't kill him in one blow. Lin Moyu withstood the white light and looked toward the doorway.
A phantom appeared in the hall, morphing into Bai Yiyuan's form. Lin Moyu smiled, "You really did come." As he expected, it was the Soul-Eater. The formation he'd set outside hadn't stopped it, but it must have delayed it, or it would have arrived sooner. Lin Moyu knew that Great Dao origin qi still had some effect on the Soul-Eater.
The Soul-Eater growled, "Hand over the Spirit-Nurturing Wood!" Not only was it intelligent, it could speak. Lin Moyu replied with a light smile, "So you want the Spirit-Nurturing Wood. That's not impossible, but answer a few questions first."
The Soul-Eater didn't seem to understand, only repeating, "Hand over the Spirit-Nurturing Wood!" Lin Moyu shook his head, "Looks like there's no point talking."
Seeing Lin Moyu refuse, the Soul-Eater attacked, taking Bai Yiyuan's form and using his techniques massive fist shadows swept forth. Lin Moyu's aura soared as he stepped into that realm. "Great Dao World-Ending Palm!" With one strike, he shattered the Soul-Eater's fist and sent it crashing into the hall wall. The Soul-Eater was strong, but Lin Moyu held back, so the palm didn't destroy it. The Spirit-Treasure Hall was sturdy, and even Lin Moyu's palm couldn't break it. The hall shook, bottles clattered, and some spilled out strange-smelling remnants.
"Great Dao World-Ending Palm!" Not giving the Soul-Eater a chance, Lin Moyu struck several more times, then unleashed the World-Burning Fire, which chased the palms and landed on the Soul-Eater. It howled in agony, and Lin Moyu's lips curled up having intelligence had its downsides, like knowing pain and fear.
"World-Burning Fire! How do you know the World-Burning Fire!" the Soul-Eater screamed, changing shape in pain. Lin Moyu was surprised the Soul-Eater was the first to call the World-Burning Fire by name. In the purple light, Lin Moyu was reborn, his realm rising as he kept using the World-Ending Palm, increasing its power and pinning the Soul-Eater down.
The Soul-Eater's body was nearly destroyed, the World-Burning Fire blazing ever brighter. Lin Moyu knew this creature wouldn't die easily, so he kept his strength at its limit and asked, "How do you know about the World-Burning Fire?"
The Soul-Eater didn't answer, only roaring, "I'll kill you! I'll kill you!" In a frenzy, it transformed into the Human Sovereign, summoned a war blade, and exploded with power, shattering the World-Ending Palm. The blade slashed down, dazzling the hall. Lin Moyu frowned he hadn't expected the Soul-Eater to erupt like this. He struck again, doubling his strength.
Boom! Palm and blade clashed and vanished. Suddenly, the Soul-Eater was right in front of him, blade flashing. Lin Moyu was struck and sent flying, but thanks to damage sharing, he withstood the blow. The Soul-Eater chased after him, mad with killing intent.
"Great Dao World-Ending Palm!" Lin Moyu stopped holding back, raising his power to eighty percent and striking again and again.
