The pace of time never stops. Unconsciously, one year passed by, and Konoha's 44th year had arrived quietly.
The battle between Iwagakure and Kirigakure had officially begun since the end of a battle between Konoha and Sunagakure six months ago.
During the First Great Ninja War, the Second Tsuchikage and the Second Mizukage perished together, ever since then Iwagakure and Kirigakure have long forged a hatred between them. Taking advantage of the war between Konoha and Sunagakure which consumed a lot of energy from both the villages, Iwagakure and Kirigakure officially started their battle, preparing to end the hatred formed during Great Ninja Wars.
In the beginning, Iwagakure and Kirigakure were evenly matched. But it seemed that Onoki made many promises to Sunagakure, and was even able to pull them to form an alliance, and so two Great Ninja Villages attacked Kirigakure at the same time.
Under the joint siege of Iwagakure and Sunagakure, Kirigakure was quickly defeated, and even the Third Mizukage was killed in the final battle, becoming the first Kage to die in the Third Great Ninja War.
After this battle, Iwagakure was naturally in the limelight, and Sunagakure also emerged from the shadow of defeat, but the two Great Ninja Villages didn't just stop there. Instead, they continued to fight, and even started to point their blades against Konoha.
Although they haven't officially declared war to Konoha, their intentions had long been seen through, and it's only a matter of time before the war officially starts.

Now every time he faced Tsunade, Asahi felt a little guilty. Tsunade was really good to him, but he still had to obey Orochimaru's orders, and even prepared to secretly seize the Senju's jutsu whenever he got the chance.

In the current Konoha, in addition to their older generation of ninjas, only the Sannin had the ability and prestige to lead an army alone.
Although Minato's strength that had been showed was good, his prestige was not enough. The current Minato was not famous enough to lead an army.
