Chapter 31 - Chapter 10: Iris (Finale)

"And so, the battle was horrific. Besides being rained on by cannons, there were magic attacks from the rebel forces. I fought desperately and tried to stay alive. Although I eventually had to betray Nova," Iris said.

"Yes, thank you. Thanks to you, I saw my father killed by Winstad. Now my mother is married to him and I was exiled for not agreeing to him becoming the leader of the republic," Romanova replied.

"Wait, isn't your uncle Winstad back on the side of the kingdom?" I asked.

"It's not like that. Winstad sent a secret letter to the rebels and Majagada. Majagada recognized Winstad as the leader and finally the original royal family was expelled. But I will not acknowledge him as my father," Romanova answered.

"I escaped and met Iris again who helped me escape," Romanova said. "How was the battle?"

"For today, I decided to rest after shadowing and slowing down their united forces," Iris replied. "Tomorrow we will attack once more and escape again. Non-stop until they are exhausted and run out of time to attack Ludanes."

"Where is Kuti?" I asked.

"Hey, your lover is here and you're asking about her?" Iris replied.

"S-sorry," I replied. "I'm glad you're back, Iris. I-I'm also sorry about getting sick suddenly."

Iris kissed my forehead and hugged me. Kuti appeared carrying some administrative files. "None of you want to help me? Hey Iris, isn't this supposed to be your job?"

"Now you work for me. So your tasks, I will review them tonight," Iris said.

"Argh, why do I have to work alone?" Kuti grumbled. "Oh, by the way, this doesn't involve anything that needs to be researched, right? Like budget and soldier salaries and so on?"

"I-I'll help," I said and stood up.

"Eits, you're coming with me." Iris held my hand. "No, it's just a report containing battle details for military analysts to analyze and research."

"Alright then, see you tonight," Kuti replied and left the three of us.

Iris pushed my body to lie down on the grass. Iris's hands were between my head. Her lewd face started to show, how much stamina did she have? She just returned from battle but she still looked fresh and energetic.

Iris kissed my mouth, her tongue felt like it was inviting mine to duel. I tried to break free from her force. "I-I just ate. M-my mouth still smells."

"It doesn't matter as long as I'm satisfied." Iris kissed my neck hard and left a mark there.

"Let's go to our room. We already have our own room in the Ludanes government building." Iris stood up and tried to carry me.

"E-eh! I-I can walk by m-myself!" I pleaded.

"No, I'll carry you. I'll relieve my fatigue by playing with you." Iris smiled lewdly. "What kind of game do I want to play again?"

As I was about to be carried into the tent, Goda appeared and interrupted us. "Excuse me, Princess Iris and Saint. King Majagada has summoned you for something important."

"Alright." Iris put me down. "Why didn't father tell me via phone?"

"Regarding that, the restoration process of the communication network in the city has not been repaired. It requires the power of the Saint to unblock it here," Goda replied.

"Ah yes. I forgot to tell you." A message from 999 came into my phone.

"What?"

"What you call advanced technology in the real world is called mana technology here," 999 replied. "Ehehe, I also forgot to unblock mana to Ludanes City. Later you just need to go to the sacred tree and I will unblock the mana."

"No. I want to play with Thomas," Iris replied.

"Iris, y-you shouldn't be like that. Your father called you, are you not going to show up? Come on," I said and pulled Iris's hand. We rode on horseback, trailing behind Goda towards the guild building. I was so surprised that the guild building had been beautifully renovated. The flag of the Majagada Kingdom was planted and fluttering in front of it.King Majagada himself was at the entrance of the government building, arms crossed. "Here he is, what took so long."

"Hii! S-sorry! I-Iris made it take a bit longer." I said, scared.

My future father-in-law snorted. "Why are you like that, Thomas? I'm not scolding you or scaring you. Iris, I know you're tired but this next thing is important for you to know if you're going to be Queen of Majagada later."

"I know. Father should probably stop saying that in his big, heavy voice because Thomas is scared." Iris replied.

"Let's go to the Sacred Tree. You should know about it too, right Thomas?" King Majagada asked.

I nodded, Maria appeared beside me and only I could see her. "Take King Majagada and Iris to the Sacred Tree. Bring them before my statue."

The three of us headed to the Sacred Tree Cathedral. Goda was allowed by King Majagada to rest. Once there, I followed Maria's instructions to open a secret mechanism inside the statue and a panel containing information appeared on the altar.

"This is why father wanted to conquer Ludanes so quickly. When your great-grandfather lost and this Holy City to the Order of Holy Knights. Our nation's technology stagnated for a long time." King Majagada looked at the panel.

"If you're still confused, Thomas. This is like the technology research opening point in a civilization building game. Currently, Majagada is at the second level of civilization. But thanks to the Kingdom of Majagada now adhering to two Gods and controlling two holy cities: Faore, Ludanes. The Kingdom of Majagada can reach the third level of civilization." Maria explained at length to me.

"I understand." I replied. "I also often play civilization building games. What about other civilizations that only worship one god?"

"It's possible, but their journey to unlock the next level of civilization will be difficult. Through daily missions for the King or Leader, daily guild missions carried out by citizens and adventurers, worship or rituals can also earn points to unlock further technology." Maria replied. "Before that, unblock the mana first."

Maria guided me to unblock the mana. The Sacred Tree glowed, its roots flowing something dark bluish and delivering it into the ground. Iris and King Majagada checked their phones.

"Okay, finally reconnected. Wow, hundreds of messages from my friends in Majagada." Iris put her phone back in her pocket.

"Tell me, what will open when Majagada enters the third civilization era, Thomas." King Majagada requested. "It's a shame I don't understand this ancient language."

"Of course. This is the language of the gods. Only divine envoys and gods understand it." Maria snorted, annoyed and proud.

I read what was on the information panel. "Advanced infrastructure, mana mines open, advanced gunpowder mines open, new biomes will appear, bi-level one sacred biomes. Early industrialization open, level two precious mining materials, and early mana communication network."

"Mmmm good, I can't wait to gain that knowledge. Open everything immediately and we are ready to become the most advanced civilization on this continent." King Majagada said.

"Before that, what is the bonus divine blessing after we occupy Faore and Ludanes?" King Majagada asked.

Nerville appeared behind Maria. "From me is a 10% defense and stamina bonus. It can be increased with the growing number of my followers in Majagada."

"From me is a 15% adaptive attack bonus per offering before starting a war. And every citizen who dies or passes away increases immunity to attacks." Maria added.

"How-how do I explain it?" I asked them.

"Explain it as simply as possible." They both replied.

I explained it as simply and as best I could to King Majagada. The man seemed satisfied and happy. Then he asked me to continue the civilization upgrade procedure. After I pressed the upgrade button. Everything happened instantly, the roots of the sacred tree glowed.

In my mind, I could see the sacred tree embedded in the ground and the ruins of Faore palace burning. Some high knowledge entered my head and the head of King Majagada, Iris. Several stacks of books appeared before us.

A voice message appeared on the panel screen. "Congratulations, the Majagada civilization has taken a step forward ahead of all other civilizations. As the first civilization to reach the third level. I grant you a new blessing, the magic ability level of your people has increased."

"To God 111 and God 999 who are now on Majagada's side. You also receive a new blessing by meeting me when the portal opens."

"X's voice." Nerville said. "Only I, Maria, and you can hear this. See you!"

A portal appeared and sucked Maria and Nerville in. King Majagada chuckled and was pleased. "With this, let's defeat the united forces of the Knightly Order even if we are outnumbered."

The panel closed again and the soldiers from Majagada entered and carried the stacks of knowledge books. King Majagada patted my shoulder, "Look Thomas, someday. Perhaps my grandchild will rule this continent."

I received a message from 999. The message contained special instructions for me and Kuti. The message told me to try the new power X had given to the god's holy envoy. Not long after, Kuti appeared in this cathedral.

"Come on Thomas, let's do it." Kuti said.

"What are you two going to do?" Iris and King Majagada asked simultaneously.

"Try our new power." Kuti replied. "With the permission of 999, 111. We send an additional mana flow to Iris and King Majagada."

A fine thread that only I and Kuti, as well as the recipients of this fine thread flow, could see appeared. The fine thread pierced the backs of King Majagada and Iris.

"What is this? Hey, I feel my power increasing. Let me check my status card." Iris took her status card. "Whoa, strengthened by 50% as long as this thread is not broken."

King Majagada showed off his strength and lifted the large stone altar table. "Good. How do I stop it?"

Kuti and I cut the thread with our daggers. They both became normal, the old bluish aura that enveloped their bodies disappeared. Their status returned to normal as usual.

"Wow, I want to fight hundreds of people alone with this new ability tomorrow." Iris said. "You'll accompany me, right Thomas?"

"Y-yes." I replied.
