Dean never liked Naylani Pierson.
He never met her, but he hated her even before he could understand the meaning of the word.
Why?
The reason was simple.
It was Naylani who made Zoren sick. If Zoren weren't sick, he wouldn't have to get all that attention as the sickly child. Zoren wouldn't have to just sit around and not play with him. And Dean wouldn't have gotten scolded if he forced him to play when they were children.
If not for Naylani, things would surely be different.
Zoren might be more normal. He might attend school just like Dean and Ray, compete with them, lose at one point, and manage to form proper bonds rather than one founded on pity and guilt.
It was all Naylani's fault.
For stabbing a child, attempting to burn him, and then hanging herself because she knew she deserved to rot in jail.
