Farah suddenly remembered her bracelet and put Nola down gently,
"Nola, stay in the room for a while. I need to talk to Daddy."
She closed the door and walked out to him, extending her hand,
"Give me back my bracelet."
His eyes blinked in confusion,
"What bracelet?"
His act of feigned ignorance infuriated her,
"Don't play dumb. I know you took it. Give it back!"
"No."
Bruno suddenly decided to be audacious, leaning in and saying playfully,
"If you want the bracelet, you'll have to stay a few more days!"
What else could he do? She was leaving! If he could find a way to keep her, he'd do anything, no matter how shameless.
She was so angry she almost wanted to slap him, but he took her hand and held it tightly in his palm,
"Don't rush to answer. I'm giving you the whole night to think about it."
His warm breath surrounded her, and for a moment, she felt dizzy, with an impulse to abandon everything and throw herself into his arms. But in the end, she resisted.
