"Your situation is actually quite simple," Sharky began, pointing to various glowing dots on the holographic display. "We live in a universe filled with living planets and countless unique species."
"One of those species is known as the Hybrids. Long ago, they carried out experiments on different lifeforms—humans included. These experiments gave rise to individuals with special abilities. We call them Demihumans. And you, Sophia… you're one of them."
Sophia listened closely, eyes wide, but as the word experiment sank in, she suddenly trembled with a loud, dramatic shiver that sounded more like a cartoonish "brrrrrrrp!"
"W-what?! So you're telling me I was part of some alien science project?!" Her voice cracked as she pictured herself strapped to a cold lab table surrounded by creepy, bug-eyed creatures in lab coats. "And they wiped my memory after poking and prodding me?!" she gasped.
Sharky chuckled softly, reaching out to hold her hand. "No, no, Sophia. Nothing like that."
