Lukas's POV
My wife seems to be waiting for me. She closed the book and signed for me to join her in the bed. Lilibeth leans on me as soon as I sit next to her, leaning on the headboard.
"I'm glad you're okay, Lukas," she whispered. I held her palm and spoke. "How about you? How's everything when I'm not around?" I ask.
She raises her head and looks at me. "It was sickening, hon. My sister sends assassins to kill me and our child even if we're already touring her around and it's broad daylight. She didn't repent at all," Lilibeth says.
My ears turned hot when I heard what she said. I think my wife saw how dangerous the reaction that I have right now is. She cupped my face and met my eyes.
"Hey, relax. Don't worry. Kassandra was there and saved us. Of course, you can see the evidence," she mumbled, placing my hand on her round tummy.
